The "Napping in your car" instructions in the manual are very clear on that point!

While still coasting to a stop, hit the start button three times quickly, this will kill the engine and put you in acc mode without cutting power to the head unit, but you need to be moving slightly for this to work. I wouldn't recommend trying it for the first time in your driveway, find an empty parking lot so you understand what it's doing. It's a fail safe for the engine should you need to shut it down in an emergency while moving (ie, oil light comes on). I know this works cause I've used it numerous times while coming to a stop....that is while parking.

No I don't think so (read their one other post). Just has really weird priorities!

Ok, turning the car off, but keeping 'ACC Power' on is possible. The trick is to be rolling at least 2 mph. Then quickly press the start/stop button 3 times. Engine will stop, electronic will stay on. Voilà

I didn't have time to read that part, could you summarize it for me?

Don't do it in an enclosed area with car running.
Ensure parking brake fully engaged.
Recline seat!
(Not in book but advisable anyway: Don't do it in downtown Detroit!)

This is one of the things that really annoys me with pushstart too. Is there any fix?

People have asked this same question repeatedly since this car first came out, and there doesn't appear to be any reasonable way to do it. Killing the engine by dumping the clutch with the car in gear? Don't do that.
Why do you want to shut off the engine so badly? Keep the transmission in neutral and apply the hand-break. When you're done, simply turn the car off and switch into 1st or neutral for safekeeping.
