No, you probably don't even notice it. And people seem to keep forgetting that there's more than just the tC.

I think the AWD platform would raise the price of their vehicles too much. And I don't see a AWD platform going on any of their current vehicles. And from the looks of it the only AWD "Car" Toyota currently has is the Venza, so AWD really isn't their thing.
I'm still going to say Toyota need a coupe. Look back at Toyota's history, there were always Toyota coupe in the line up. They just killed their last coupe aka Camry Solara recently. One of Japanese big 3 that doesn't have a coupe? what a joke? right?

ok i've got it!! Toyota needs to produce the 86 for a year or 2 or even 3 then make a variant (possibly mini 86) and brand it as a scion then everyone would be happy

I dont really think toyota wants a sports car in their line up, they seem to have identified each of their marks with specific audiences, generally speaking. People just need to realize that toyota isnt the brand they once were. It kind of reminds me of buick in the 6-70's and then in the 90's. Toyota looks to scion to make them the profit for a car with this audience in mind.

Mr. Toyoda himself said this car is to bring back driving spirit and to go back to the roots of how Toyota once was, an impressionable performance manufacturer, not the head of a line up of boring a-b cars.

I say Toyota should give leftover thing to Scion. I think iQ is a clear example. It took Toyota a few years to collect all leftover and re badge it as Scion. I joke I joke. LOL

Scion should stick to what it is now and add a mini truck then call it the world's first mini truck and some sh*t like that.

I also agree that building a smaller car than FT86 is good for scion. Less power mean more practical, light weight means fun. There is no such a thing as " practical and fun can't be together".

Hilux is a solid mid size truck. It's capable of going off-road, but this X runner? I don't think so. However, X runner is more capable on road.

While your assumption is wrong (as Mr. Toyoda HIMSELF has proved), even if it were true, they NEED sports coupes in their lineup.

see your reference to Buick

They have come full circle yet again. The brand dies out every time their clients do

Scion? Make Toyota a profit? Selling less than 100,000 cars a year avg? :l aughabove::lau ghabove:

Don't be stupid. Subaru finally broke 200k for the ENTIRE YEAR of 2009, and they're still making a profit.

Quote:
For 2009, Subaru sold 216,652 vehicles, up 15 percent from 187,699 in 2008.

Scion isn't meant to sell in the hundreds of thousands. They don't even produce enough to keep up with that kind of demand.

Quote:
Scion Division reported sales of 57,961 units for the year.
While obviously 2009 Scion didn't sell a ton of units in 2005 and 2006 tC's alone sold more than 75,000 units:

Quote:
2005 74,415 2006 79,125
Again, it's not about actual numbers sold, it's about how many are produced vs how many sell.

if it used to sell more and now less its dying out.. do you have a scion and are defending it to this embarrassing point?

< 2010 Subaru Legacy
Before that '99 Honda Civic Coupe
At the same time I also had a Yamaha R6
Before those I had a 2004 STi(Got T-Boned )
Before that '98 Honda Accord Coup
Before that '92 Honda Accord Coup

Point is, everything is selling less. Want to talk about selling less? Ford sold something around 400,000 less units a few years ago than the year before. Same with Toyota, they sold about 200,000 less units from 2007 to 2008. It's not a "Scion Trend" it's a every brand trend.
