No front pipe/test pipe will create a check engine light unless its really really really badly made or some weird issue. Simply because all the sensors (O2 sensors more specifically ) are located upstream on the headers near the primary catalytic converter. Therefore the car can't even tell the secondary cat is missing.

A tune is not necessary but it always helps in the long run performance wise to tune out the torque dip and if you plan on getting uels in the future THAT will cause a CEL unless its a ft86sf catted uel or some others but having a tune negates the CEL and makes the car pass inspection if you go fully catless later.

Funny thing is I actually took my exhaust system off except muffler lol.... Cuz I don't wanna be too loud while trying to keep up with MoMs.

Maybe one day after I go FI.

I have the OpenFlash Tablet, Borla UEL header (love it! NOTHING but compliments on the sound from everybody), Berk Tech dual-tip muffler delete, and the K&N drop in. The off-the-shelf (OTS) tunes the OFT folks provide are top-notch, well-tested, and allow for editing if that's your thing. Best/next purchase I recommend for you is the OFT!

VERY easy to use. Check out this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ight=OPENFLASH

Reading through it is what sold me on it. Purchasing it for the stock tune alone is worth it! They also have an in-house header you can purchase in a combo deal that they've written a specific tune for. I've heard nothing but rave reviews on the header build quality.
