What do you mean by "turn to DRL" though? DRLs are on with the controls set to either OFF or AUTO. (I'm not trying to be a smartass btw, just confused)

To get the DRL strip on bottom off while headlights are on you need to remove the little red piece on the black module that is close to the little white hole on the bottom half. In their installation video it shows you at the 3:34 mark!

Think by DRL he/she means parking lights. Turning the headlight switch from OFF to Parking Lights probably turns on the headlights also (as opposed to turning all the way to ON).

Don't have a solution, but that's my interpretation of the problem.

I installed mine yesterday and everything went well. I was unable to completely hide the wire though. I could not figure out how to get it to go behind the hood latch. Everything is tucked behind the bumper and air box but for that small 6" section that goes around the hood latch area. I tried to shove it behind the latch but could only get it about 3/4 the way between the bumper foam before it would get stuck.

How else are you guys doing it?

That! The headlight switch has 4 settings: off, DRL, parking light and headlight.

when I turn one knot to DRL, everything comes on including the headlights. (I don't want the headlights to come on)

when I turn another knot to parking light, only the boomerang and the DRL come on.

when I turn all the way, everything turns on again.

I don't have a DRL setting on my BRZ Limited, I have the Auto setting instead, depending on lighting outside, it either turns on the DRL if it's bright out, or headlights if it's dark. With the mod, its all on at dark, just DRL and Boomerang if light.

Just researched a bit more, both BRZ models have auto headlights. Either you were testing during while it was dark out, or your light sensor is blocked or not working as suggested below.

Turning once gets you to the AUTO setting which will turn on your headlights depending on how light/dark the car thinks it is.

Did you block off the headlight sensor?

I was able to completely hide mine between the foam and the hood latch as you mention. Depress the foam and it should give room to fit the connectors through. I removed my air box to give more room to work, I'll try to post pics tomorrow night.

Sorry, there are so many trolls on these forums I made a mistaken assumption! The windows frozen thing comes up every winter. Glad your situation was still a simple fix (not gonna lie--I've hit the window lock button by accident too).

It takes maneuvering and possibly smaller hands to get it behind the hood latch, but it fits. Definitely need to remove the airbox to get back there.

This module has absolutely nothing to do with your interior illumination or windows.

Just to be clear- the AUTO headlight setting has absolutely nothing to do with this module. It just switches your lights on or off for you.

And remember- DRL comes on only when vehicle is running, with ebrake down. Parking lights come on whenever your headlights are on- doesn't matter if it's the Auto setting or On setting.

After installing, if you think something's not working right, please uninstall the module and see if it's still the case. This module is not going to interfere with other functions in your vehicle.
