I know. I guess California is not one of the places in the world where studded tyres may be necessary for safe driving ;-)
But I remember reading they are legal in something like 33 states in the US?

A blizzard in the Sierras is as about as bad as any snowy weather anywhere if not more so.

Good thing is that its not a huge area.

No, I've never complained about the JRSC kit. Not once (feel free to prove me wrong and quote me). I love that kit, want to get it and have had nothing but praise and good things to say about it.

Idk why people tend to project or make up stuff (perhaps some people tend to like to sht on each other, to make themselves feel better or make themselves appear "cooler" to others).

15" Rota Slipstreams barely fit:

Very interesting nonetheless. Can we say, "ultra lightweight." I bet it would look swell too.

And image all the nice old-school 15" and 16" meshes you could get...if you had 4x114.3 hubs

So I went online to figure out the final gear ratio after a switch to 16" from 17" . Based on stock tire size 215/45R17 (24.62" Diameter) to 225/50/16 (24.86" diameter) it seems the 17" diameter could be, if just slightly, impeding off the line performance.

The diameter to gear ratio numbers (using 4.10 ratio)...

215/45R17 (24.62" Diameter) Final Gear Ratio 4.06

225/50/16 (24.86" diameter) Final Gear Ratio 4.135 (rounded to 4.14 essentially closest to 4.10)

Now to me this should be noticeable in straight line performance. If it is in real life, only those using the 225 tire could say.

The RPM change at 65 ( at 1.0 5th gear ratio)...

Stock 17" - 3540 rpm

New 16" - 3574 rpm

MPH Change (at 65 mph based on corrected gear ratio, and 1.0 5th gear ratio)...

Stock 17" - 64.12 - 64mph

New 16" - 65.08 - 65mph

To me the RPM's seem high at 65mph, I used this site for the calculations so correct my numbers if they are wrong.
