This is true. An independent study was done at MIT.

Essentially Tin foil hats amplify radio waves that are reserved for Government and large corporation use. The tin foil hats used to combat The Great Conspiracy are actually PART of the conspiracy.

If you're that concerned about the government tracking you then you should probably take the battery out of your cell phone before you go anywhere or just leave it at home and walk. Just be sure not to pass by any convenience stores, grocery stores, parking lots, Wal-Marts, Targets, video stores, liquor stores, intersections, etc. Since many if not all of those have video recording equipment. Additionally I would suggest getting rid of your passport, drivers license, credit cards, debit cards, library cards, or anything else with a magnetic strip on them as they leave traces of where you've been. Lastly I would suggest not using the internet.

Actually if you are going to be concerned about someone looking at this data and using it against you then think insurance companies. If the automakers share this with them then they could potentially use it to deny a claim.

Drifting the car, jump a curb and hit a pole or tree.

Insurance companies says, "Hmmm, lets see. The car was pulling .6 Gs in a right hand turn and then went to WOT. There was then a jolt when you jumped the curb and the crash of the impact. So just what were you doing sonny?"

Even if they pay claim rates skyrocket due to what they consider reckless operation. Or they cancel you.

You do not need to be afraid of the Government. You need to be afraid of the huge corporations that own and run the Government.

Just wait until insurance companies get to review all EDR data after an accident and then deny your claim because you were going 6 mph over the limit. There's no way this is good news.

This stuff is nothing new. Airbag ecus have been data recording since 2006-07 on 97% of everything on the road. And yes there have been some court cases where this stuff has been used. Best plan of action? Make sure if you crash take out the battery side of the car. If not reverse the battery connection to erase memory. Jk of course on the battery part.

But yes. Nothing new ...

Now *that* is a legit reason to be worried. The law currently winding it's way through congress says that the information belongs to the owner of the car but it can be required to give to law enforcement with court order.

OTOH, the law says nothing about an insurance company requiring you as part of their insurance policy to give over the data to them in the case of a claim. Could they deny a claim after the accident? I doubt it since I could argue that in every accident a law was broken ("failure to give right of way" etc) but it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Never underestimate the cleverness of insurance company lawyers.
