@Diode Dynamics

How is the test vehicle so far? Has any of the LED's burned out? As with any mods, of course there is always a risk of things going wrong and by buying it, we acknowledge that fact.

Just want to know if you guys have encountered anything that may result in premature failure or suspect anything in the long run.

Oh, and I can't wait until I get mine! Thanks!!

No LEDs should be burning out as a result of this mod, it uses all of the stock LEDs. All it does is bridge a few connections so the boomerangs can stay on with DRLs while headlights are off. And so DRLs can stay on when headlights are on.

That's kinda what I'm getting at lol, since they're always on, they generate more heat than usual (perhaps not built to withstand that much usage?) and we know heat kills LEDs...

Also, I'm sure some of you may already notice, we do have a little condensation build up in the DRL's, I sure notice it... Would this "Always On" feature affect it?

Would it build a bigger condensation pool inside?

Just a few questions and concerns; of course, I have already bought mine sooooo I'm getting it regardless lol

Obviously no one else has any real experience but IMO there's nothing to worry about. The DRLs and boomerangs are already designed to be turned on for extended periods of time. They're on all day already.

And whatever water happens to get in to your DRLs is what is going to determine how much condensation you see. Unless more leaks in you shouldn't see any more. If you see any and you're under warranty I would get it replaced.

The boomerangs are only on when headlights are on or if Parking lights are on... Unless you mean you personally turn them on all day.

The condensation, I've mentioned to Subaru the first week when I picked my car up almost 3 years ago... They won't do a thing unless there's actual pooling of water inside the assembly. I've seen this exact problem with all the other BRZ owners as well...

This is what I figured.

Think about it this way, unless you normally drive 24 hours/day, your boomerangs are still seeing similar amount of continuous use. 1-2hrs constant at night when you drive home, 1-2hrs constant when you drive to work in the morning.

So theoretically the overall lifespan of your boomerangs and DRLs would be the same, but they might die in 10 years rather than 20.

This has been on my car for about a week now and nothing has exploded in a ball of fire. Yet.

I have a buddy who had to rewire his stock headlights to get the boomerangs to turn on along with the DRL. I believe he also had the voltage turned up so the boomerangs were brighter. He had it done last summer and from what I know, nothing has exploded yet

Also, any word on when Canadian buyers get theirs? I ordered through brzworld. Does it ship to them first and then they ship it out to me or does it come directly from dio?

That's correct- we actually purposefully have not announced this product on any other channels (facebook, newsletter, etc) because we wanted to ensure that everyone in this thread could get one right away. Unfortunately it seems word has spread much faster than we anticipated. Based on our analytics, we have a lot of sales coming in from a Reddit post, for example, and the video has been shared quite a bit.

I know it's disappointing, and I'm sorry for the frustration. We expected to sell a couple hundred, based on the list in the first post- but we blew threw those right away. Demand was much higher than we anticipated.

No issues at all yet. There is absolutely no risk of any LEDs burning out prematurely. Everything's working just like it did from the factory. They're not going to generate any more heat than usual.

Everything from Subaru should be designed to run fine for years, whether or not it's constantly in use. Products are designed for a "worst case" scenario. Like someone using a BRZ as a 24-hour taxi, with a company policy to always have the lights on for safety. When it comes to lights, you have to plan for everything to be on constantly if it can be on at all.

The only thing that we were really testing is our module, however, it's pretty simple, so we expect everything to work perfectly and reliably for years. It's just always best to verify that, by actually getting things installed. Also allows us to get the wire lengths just right, etc.

Don't know about other people, but I did not get a single word on this product being available at all until I read the last few pages on this thread... and I'm on the list in the first post.
