Hey @Churg. Did I just e-mail you? Lol. Just wanted to make sure.

@Infamous Performance: Wow...now that's christmas! Nice numbers too.
@Calum: I see they're in Escondido and using a Mustang. So I think they may be using the exact same Mustang heartbreaker dyno Delicious is using (whom is also in San Diego); if so, their baselines for FRS/BRZ is 153whp. Which makes their numbers darn good (about 270hp flywheel for 91oct and 340hp flywheel on e85).

I notice many people's JRSC CARB tune dyno results are similar at about 270hp to the flywheel. Nice to hear it's consistent

Thanks for clarifying. I was about to ask why so low on ACN 91. Damn curse.

We have built/tuned many JR equipped 86's. I did not baseline this car as we already have base lines on the CARB tune. Yes, the dyno is mine (Infamous Performance), yes it is the "heartbreaker" from So Cal, and yes it is the same dyno Delicious Tuning (Bill) does most of his tuning on. Delicious tuning is next door, lol. I am in suite 8, Bill is in suite 7. We work together on many, many projects.

Most are doing ~270 at the wheels, not the flywheel. This dyno, from what I'm told, typically shows about 160-165 at the wheels.

I don't doubt the numbers are consistent, and what they should be for that dynos calibration. Your math doesn't really add up though.

I've seen mustang dynos calibrated to give much less heartbreaking numbers. What's the advantage of calibrating yours this way? It seems like it would dampen your readings making it harder to notice some things.

Most are doing ~250-260 dynojet to the wheels on the CARB tune. That would be ~300 to the flywheel.

@Calum:
That chart you posted shows aftermarket headers being used with the SC kits (hence, most likely not on the Carb tune neither). So, of course it will have more whp.

As far as my numbers (besides the aforesaid 153whp baseline Mustang with a 206whp result from a jrsc carb tune).. I'm personally basing it from a few other dynos I've seen, with jrsc carb tune running 245whp on dynojet (with around a 180whp base iirc)..around 270hp flywheel if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@M23

Stop over thinking all of it and buy the car first. Then, buy one of the FI CARB kits available. Figure out the rest on how to operate around the CARB rules or chase an imaginary number that you can't achieve legally. The reason you get the JRSC kit is for reliability--especially if installed by CSG. You gotta pay to play.

You got me..stalker. jk ;P ...I just like to nerd out and research obsessively..not really into chasing some imaginary pipe dream super 800whp number.

But ya..I hear ya. The kit sounds great and reliable. Long term counts big.

Wow. Sorry to start a poo storm on dynos. Lol.

I have tested my Mustang against the Dynojet used by Dsport magazine and the Dyno Dynamics used by HG Motorsports. Same cars tested on the different dynos, sometimes on the same day. Consistently the Dsport magazine Dynojet reads 17-20% higher than my Mustang. By comparison the HG Dyno Dynamics has never been more than 6whp off my dynos numbers. It is not about "my calibration", it is about how the dynos read and calculate the numbers. I believe my dynos numbers are a more real world example of actual power being applied to the asphalt.

A car making 205whp on my dyno typically makes 240whp-245whp on the dynojet.

A car making 260whp on my dyno typically makes 305whp-312whp on the dynojet.
