I went one Chicago Winter with the stock bridgestone A/S tires. It's "doable" but not great by any means. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're quite comfortable with RWD cars/oversteer/etc.

This year i'm on snow tires and it's FAR better. It's worth the money to have the snow be basically a non-issue. The only times it's remotely tricky is starting from an uphill stop, or if there is a heavy camber in the road and there's some soft snow on the ground. It still goes, but you're going to be working the wheel a bit to keep it straight.

Still though, i've had FAR worse cars in the snow that on paper should've been better.

A light dusting is all it takes to break the stock tires loose in a straight line at 40+. I felt safer on my bike in a snow storm than I did with the stock tires on, and that's not an exaggeration.

My car runs fine in the snow with snow tires. However is there is any sort of incline I always either put it in sport mode or shut off track control all together.

Don't wait til next season if you're going to continue to drive it. Even if we only have another two months it's not worth chancing it. Sure the stocks might be "manageable" in snow for a careful driver but once you hit ice with the stocks you're SOL

Ya like everyone says snow tires are a must. With snow tires on my brz it feels like there is so much grip that it will be hard for you to mess up.

Absolute must! I have like a .00001% grade hill in my neighborhood and the stock tires spun like crazy the first time I tried to take it out in snow. Immediately parked it and bought snow tires/wheels.

Those stock tires aren't really good at anything except for lots of sideways fun haha.

But, don't do what I did....

I did not want to have to change tires each season so I tired to take the easy way out and just get all season Michelins. Still sucks in the snow.

Matter of fact, if there is 4 inches of snow on the road and I have all the traction control stuff on, the car refuses to go. I have to turn all the traction stuff off to get moving by having the tires just spin and spin to push me along.

For those with winter tires, do you have this issue?? I really hate my BRZ in the snow!

Even on dry roads with the stock rubber at below freezing temps the car scared me. I put on Conti EWC's and now I rip around in whatever conditions I encounter with complete confidence. Change the tires now or park the car for the next few weeks.

No, we do not have this issue. Snows or store it in the winter.

These past two weekends I've been driving it though. Below freezing, but the roads are pretty much clear. Still ended up drifting a corner this past Saturday because it started snowing halfway through my drive and I hit the throttle too much mid-turn. It was a good learning experience, no damage to myself or anyone else.

I'd never drive it without snow tires if I saw as much snow as I see in that picture you posted D:
I havent driven the BRZ during heaving snow yet (and im not going to unless i have snow tires). However, i drove this past saturday and it was light snow/rain mix and the BRZ did pretty good (even with stock summer tires).

Yea with light snow my BRZ was alright too, especially since the roads were well plowed. But it was that one turn that caught me D:
