That's it. There are no good Canadian auto publications. The national ones are all rubbish online versions.

When Subaru introduced the facelifted WRX/WRX STi they had a big event at Calabogie outside Ottawa, which was a national event IIRC.

Surely no more than 6 WRBs should be required by Subaru Canada and what does it say that they promote the BRZ heavily with a car who's colour you cannot readily get from the dealer for a while? Meh.

With it being Monday now I'm hoping people can contact their dealerships and find out if their dealerships have VIN's for their WRB's (and if not, VIN's for the other 3 colours).

As I believe I've said before, if somebody can get a VIN # for their WRB with a promise to deliver next month then that can perhaps debunk what I was told. Be interesting to see as information starts to come out.
Not sure it helps or not but I got the VIN for my BRZ sport Tech 6MT last Wed (May 9), last 3 digit is 745. But mine is Pearl white color, not sure if WRB make any different for the delivery date.
Percy, what place were you at your dealership? #1? Further back? Would you be able to e-mail your dealer and find out if there were any other WRB's ahead of you in line and if so if your dealer received any VIN's/ETA's for it? I'm trying to do my best to see if there's any truth to a shortfall of WRB's for people. Thanks!

Also, did your dealer tell you when you could expect it? Mine has said a few days after June 15.

Having put a deposit on a WRB, and hearing that my dealership says the earliest it will come in is late july-mid august, makes this sound at least a little believable.

They have a silver one they said I could have early June, but the WRB would be later.

I live in Calgary and order through Calgary Subaru. Yes, I am #1. I made the deposit in Dec 2011, quite a while ago. I am also the #1 FRS order through Toyota Canada, deposit made the same time.
Anyway I can email the dealership and see if they have any WRB in first shipment.
They didn't get me exact ETA yet, but they said around late May or early June. I AM NOT SURE IF MY BRZ WILL BE FIRST FOR DELIVERY OR NOT.
Let's see what happened.

Oh man, I'm going to be livid if other people start getting their cars in late May if I'm made to wait until the latter half of June when I know my car has been on Canadian soil since April.

I did ask them and see below for the reply

Hello Percy,

Good to hear from you. I haven’t received any feedback from our distribution department regarding arrival eta’s for our BRZ’s. I only have 2 in my first batch and have about 10-12 orders to fill. I have a Blue one in the pipeline but that won’t be arriving until approximately late August / early September.

They are an extremely limited production car for Subaru, and even for us being the top volume dealer in Western Canada, we’re only getting 15 for the entire year.

You'd think new WRB's would be arriving all the time. August at the soonest seems a little odd and I know it's not what people want to hear but it might be what people are looking at unfortunately if they ordered WRB.

Thanks for checking into it.

Spoke to my dealer (Richmond Hill Subaru) today. Asked him if he heard anything about a Canadian shortage of WRB BRZs and possible August delivery of WRB BRZs. He gave me good news and bad news. Good news (for me at least, haha) was his response to me: "Nope yours is reserved! The boat would have to sink for you not to get one!"

Bad news is he said release dates have been pushed back to mid-June. Anybody else who has a WRB on order heard anything from their dealer?

Talked to my dealer in Red Deer and my WRB has a VIN now and is set to arrive for mid-June. He said mine is an order and not an allocation, so it can't be re-routed. I suspect some [or all] dealers were allocated test drive vehicles which were instead used to fill some of the pre-orders, and perhaps it was some of these which were re-routed to press.

I'm getting my WRB or CBS through Subaru Calgary...I'm so screwed aren't I? I don't even know which place I'm in anymore. *sigh*

Maybe not. I went through Scott Subaru (Red Deer). I originally called Calgary Subaru and they claimed to not know how many vehicles they were getting in (yeah right, everyone else knew) and I'd have been 16th in line. They are apparently getting 15, at least that's what they told Percy recently. I'm not sure all of those will be at once, I have a feeling it might be stretched over a few months (but who knows).

At Red Deer I'm #1 on the list (or perhaps 2, if counting the silver premium they are getting in early which sounds more like an allocation than an order), and they knew they were getting three in (all w/ Sport Tech), so it was a no-brainer. I have not had good dealings with Calgary Subaru for service work, so that makes going to Red Deer a bonus. So far Red Deer has been very up front about everything and a real pleasure to deal with.

Can I ask what you guys are all paying for your BRZs? I assume MSRP? Any admin fees?

I am going in to order tomorrow.
