Black housing questions :)

1. Will this product work:

2. If I decide to remove it next year. How should I proceed?

3. Good choice of color?

blacking out the reflectors is a one way street. the chrome is just plastic so anything that will desolve your black paint off will damage the chrome.

The "chrome" inside headlights is vapor deposited aluminum. It's also only microns thick so yes, it's a one way street

Wow, that is well done. How many coats did you apply and where did you put it to dry off?

Also, did you use a sealent or you just reheated it to seal it?

Duplicolor makes a high heat black paint for the engine bay application and we've seen great results with this product for blacking out headlamp housings.

Canada stores are limited ! You think I need a paint for higher heat rating? I will be installing HID. Will it get that HOT?

You can get Duplicolor products from Canadian Tire (off the shelf). For headlamps, it's always a good idea to use high heat paint for added durability and to apply thin, light coats to allow it to build slowly. Prep work for the surface is also important prior to painting the housing.

Prep work as in cleaning and applying primer? Am I missing something?

This paint can is already bought, I don't know if I can return or exchange it in Canadian Tire store. However, do I really need that high heat durability?

What prep work?

I didnt do any prep work like sanding or washing. Just inspect it make sure you dont have any road dust or anything that somehow found its way into your headlight housing.
heres what i use

One last note: Remember to clean the dust off the inside of your lens whenever you take apart the headlight lol. i neglected to do that and now it annoys the heck out of me and its too cold outside to take the car apart

Been painted for a little over a year and i dont see any changes in my paint so pretty happy

It's always a good idea to clean off any dust and debris as much as possible before apply paint to any surface. Wiping the surface down with rubbing alcohol would be ideal, helping to clean the surface before paint is applied
