I'm sure Subaru is secretly juicing the Scion's motors in the plant.

They better have Sirius XM radio option within the next year. My requirements for a new car include built in Android support, navigation, and Sirius XM which I use all the time. I thought Scion was all about sound options and radio stuff. How could they not include satellite radio? Oh that's right, they're trying not to make money...

Just an FYI. Edmunds tested both the FR-S and the BRZ:
"At 7.3 seconds, its 0-60 time (7.0 seconds using a 1-foot rollout like on a drag strip)" They said this:
Quote:
But this time comes with an explanation. The rev limiter in 2nd gear kicks in at 59.2 mph, requiring a second shift to achieve the milestone and slowing the time considerably. The quarter-mile passes in 15.3 seconds at 92.1 mph.
http://www.insideline.com/subaru/brz...and-video.html

For the 0-60 times Edmunds tries to keep this close to real world hence no roll-out. They also include the roll-out numbers which shaves 3/10 of a second and should be closer to MotrorTrend and Car & Driver numbers.

FR-S actually recorded a much faster time through Edmunds:
Quote:
Sixty miles per hour is reached in 6.6 seconds (6.3 seconds with one foot of rollout like on a drag strip), and the quarter-mile in 14.8 seconds at 93.8 mph. Yes, this result is notably quicker and faster than the BRZ, which did those deeds in 7.3, 7.0, and 15.3 seconds at 92.1, respectively. What's going on?
The data reveals that the BRZ actually accelerated quicker initially, but at 19 mph the Subaru laid over a bit and the Scion powered ahead and never looked back. The explanation is equal parts launch technique and gearchange speed. The Scion's tire-spinning launch allowed it power through the 4000-rpm torque hole we observed in our dyno testing where the Subaru bogged down briefly. Plus, our BRZ tester was plagued with a finicky 1-2 gearchange which ate up precious time en route to 60 mph.

Any other posted times from another car mag?

Here is MotorTrend for the BRZ:
Quote:
proved a hair quicker, scooting from 0 to 60 in 6.4 seconds (versus the Miata's 6.5) and through the quarter mile in 14.9 at 95.5 mph (versus 15.0 at 90.2).
Sounds like Edmunds car must of had an issue. The FR-S and BRZ should be very close and 0-60 should be between 6.2 and 6.4

pssssst...BRZ does....
Satellite radio adds weight.
I guess the BRZ guys don't care about performance.
Might as well just get a Buick.

Do people still use satalite radio? I always thought the sound quality was poor, like a low bit-rate mp3.

Yeah, considering the amount of weight it adds.

You might as well take a shit for extra performance.

All my work trucks have satellite radio, but just like the regular radio, you get sick and tired of the same old songs. I prefer my ipod anyways.

This car doesn't have satellite radio! OH NOES!

lol, people can't tell an obvious troll post around here....

anyway, I can't believe anyone actually cares about satellite radio anymore, it is outdated 90's technology like minidisc players, it's barely any better than regular radio and ridiculously overpriced. On my phone I can get millions of internet radio services for free, most sound better, and don't cut out when I go through a tunnel.
