Oil Change - Seattle Area Dealerships That Use 0W20
Howdy all!
I am due for my first oil change on my 2014 FR-S and wanted to see if anyone can confirm if any dealerships in the Seattle area are using the factory recommended 0W20 oil? If so, is it something you specifically asked for or did they just know? Imagine they don't see that many of our cars coming through and may just auto-pilot on 5W30. Thanks in advance! |

All Scion dealerships. They know. Guaranteed. If they mess up, they'll pay for it anyways. Remind them when you get in if you're really paranoid.

The dealership in Puyallup uses 0-20, but you may wish to confirm with any dealership what oil they use ....

Do it yourself? Then you are sure to use the right oil? This was one of the easiest cars I have ever done an oil change on quite honestly...

or you can confirm their understanding of the weigh needed when you drop it off. i recently got a change and the twins werent even in their system but they had the weight.
i suspect because many owners likely got theirs from dealerships that may have included the first (if not couple) change/s free. i was not afforded that offer having bought 2nd owner. |

Howdy again!
Confirming Scion of Kirkland does use 0W-20 oil. It appears they overfilled by about 1/4" on the dipstick. Going to verify with them tomorrow if that is acceptable or if they need to remove some. |

I assume they're following the logic here. 1/4" the OTHER way, low, would be a definite problem. Take this with a grain of salt because I do not know if the oil passages and pump system are sensitive to overfilling, but my previous experience with all sorts of EJ engines indicates it's good practice to be full or a little over at all times.
