It depends on how close your eyes are to the screen. For Retina screen, your eyes cannot see the division of a pixel because it is so dense. However, if you move further away from the screen, the pixel is smaller and then you won't be able to see the pixel at hall. It is all about an illusion.

Just numbers for comparisons: my computer screen is running about 90 dpi (dot per inch). iPhone 4/4s has about 326 dpi, iPad3 with 264 dpi, and iPad2 has 132 dpi. The TF300 is running at 149 dpi based on coversion from TF700T of 1920x1200 with 224 dpi. In short, the TF300 is a tad better than iPad 2 in terms of screen display.

The iPad has an IPS Display as well which has a resolution of 2048x1536. This past what is considered 'HD' and creates a pixel density that is so high, pixels cannot be differentiated from one another at normal viewing distance.


As an owner of one of these fancy iPads, I have to say that the screen is simply breathtaking. I have become a pixel density elitist ever since the iPhone 4 and this iPad only reinforces my lust for pixels.

It's damn impressive.
