Man, I got my refund instantly...

A refund of -281 dollars...

Isn't that funny?

If they owe YOU money it takes 4-6 weeks.

If you owe THEM money they can accept it in 30 seconds.

@Tcoat

Is it like that in Canada?

100% yes!
Much better now with direct deposit but if you want a cheque you better be prepared to wait.

I paid $32K in taxes this year and get a wopping $428 back!

No fees for federal, and Texas has no state tax.

I live pretty simply (no dependents, mortgage, etc.) so it was pretty straightforward, but I think even with some investments it would've been free.

I'm sitting here staring at my tax refund amount and noting it won't quite cover the first installment of property tax, the bill for which is sitting on my desk...

Oh yes, mortgage. That's ALSO due by the end of the month.

Anyone want a nice starter house in NE IL? Still have the place we used to live, currently out for adoption. heh... (that tax bill won't show up for another couple months but ... well, the 'burbs are a wee bit cheaper than the city, and the 'burb I lived in was particularly good on the property tax...)

I'm really looking forward to my commute to and from work once Toyota's corporate offices finally move to Dallas.

I lived in Hawaii back in the early 90s and miss it every day.
Until I remember that I didn't have to pay for stuff back then. I love my bank account too much to move back at this age! (Maybe when I'm old and crusty and we all have hoverboards.)
