So you broke the cat and took it out instead of cutting it off & weld a straight pipe? That might be a good idea to pass visual inspection unless its not safe to run it as is.

Seems like a waste IMO unless you're worried about getting pulled over and having a visual inspection right there on the road.
Would be better off getting a catless header and just swapping back to stock if you need to worry about emissions and such.

I just did it this way to not damage the welds or physically alter the header

Yeah, I likely would have done the same thing over welding in a pipe.

Something looks odd with that torque number relative to the torque graph.

It looks as though they took the curve and made it more linear. Spread the power across the entire band rather than having that sharp pull after the torque dip.

(Hence it doesn't peak as high, but has no dip.)

How does it feel when driving?

It drives pretty much the way the graph looks: awesome!

Power is much more linear, don't need to flog it to get a response. As it's my daily driver, I was more concerned with minimising the dip than getting isolated peaks. There is somewhat of a 6-cyl feel to it now.

Having said that, the factory torque dip seems to be a defining characteristic of the 86, and, in a way, I sorta miss that sudden post-dip pull (powaaaaa).

I'm still getting used to the car's new 'attitude'

I recently got an OFT (Like within the last 2 weeks) and noticed the same thing on a stage one tune. It did a great thing for the torque dip while allowing the vehicle to feel the same overall. It's like the vehicle suddenly pulls how it should and Headers were next on my list.

Any other mods to the vehicle?

I swear the OFT Stage 1 93 Oct tune with this header has made the torque dip come back. Obviously I have no dyno to prove that, but it's how the car has been feeling. Still keeping OFT though for it's monitoring capabilities and it has also improved my gas mileage.

Take this worth a grain of salt as any changes could easily be a number of environmental factors and I have no real data.

I swear the OFT stg 1 tune with this header has NO torque dip.
