Or does it have a safety lockout if you use the paddle shifters?
It is possible to overrev the engine in manual mode with an AT. Here's one way: in a merge lane rolling in 2nd gear gun it hard and then "fat finger" (hand?) the left turn signal, hitting the downshift paddle during the motion. Since you are accelerating you won't be revving high enough to hit the safety lockout when you accidentally shift but you can easily get to the limiter by the time you realize what just happened.

Let's just say this happened to someone I know...

Holy fuck - I assume the pic of the curb rashed wheels where also demonstrating damage that occurred during the transport?

That's just ridiculous, I can't believe anyone would abuse someone's property like that - you always took such great care of your vehicle as was evident by its condition pre-departure.

I'm very sorry to hear about this - this makes me furious, and I can't imagine the headache it's causing both you and the buyer.

Most of our basis our covered, I am not a professional legal expert car handler that ships vehicles all over the country every day, nor the buyer is a claims professional that is used to these situations.

The only thing the transport company can do at this point is to do a full blame on me, saying the car was not in working condition when it was shipped out. Good thing PRE is the one loaded the car, and the owner of the shop Jason did an inspection with the pick up guy, even noted scrapes underneath my front lip. If the car had to be pushed on to the truck, it would of check marked []car not operable. That was not the case.

Its my fault for not taking a photograph of the odometer, or taking a photo of the engine bay more closely and photos of all 4 wheels of the car.

The buyer is calm about the situation, and I am going to help everything possible to take down this bullshit transport company/agent/broker/driver/dispatch or whatever the fuck.

I had a similar incident occur with a Chevy Lumina LTZ my son drove at college. He had a breakdown on the highway, AAA towed the car on a flatbed. The moron who towed it somehow managed to hook the hold chains around the rear suspension control arms on both sides and bent the crap out of them.

When it got to the shop and it was discovered AAA fixed it good as new. I will say though I was NOT happy at the time.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be planning to pick up my next ride personally. I've heard some shady transport stories.

So unfortunate. I hope everything works out and the authorities find the numb-skull who did this.

Damn, Murphy is alive and well. Sorry for your troubles but glad you documented everything and are covered. Sounds like it's 100% on the shipper's agent.

Something like this happened to me when I sold an exotic and had it trucked open from here to the New England buyer and specified that it be carried on the top deck. Somehow it wound up on the bottom deck and a loose chain from the top beat the crap out of the hood, w/s and roof for hours. The shipper paid big on that one.

Sorry to hear about this, OP.
