My main issue was with taking off from a stop during heavy snow. If the road had any crown on it, the back would slide to the low side and cause some issues. Turning and stopping was never a problem, but moving from a dead stop in snow could be painful. Last winter I had enough problems with some villages not plowing enough or at all to make me not want to drive the frs

I have recently come across a Notchback Fox body frame on Craiglist that I'd like to turn into a rally project.

Here's the ad if you're curious: http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/cto/4843106001.html

Now that seems like a pretty good deal, even without the hood, doors, and front fenders. Especially considering that my buddy, with whom I've been discussing building a Fox body rally car, has a complete 2.3L drivetrain, suspension, brakes, etc. for it.

My dilemma is finding affordable storage, where I can wrench on the car too. I know a lot of places specify storage only. So I'm looking for your guys' advice on the best place/way to find affordable (I'm talking a max of $100/mo) storage that will also allow me to work on the vehicle there. Is Craigslist the best route? Shady storage lot that doesn't car, or finding someone renting out a private on-unused garage? Is it even feasible for me to find storage like this? I'm in the northern suburbs of Chicago, and would be willing to travel about 30-40min or so in any direction for storage.

Any help is appreciated!

Drove around all yesterday in the blizzard and didn't get stuck once. Watched plenty of people get stuck in their AWD crossovers/4WD SUVs with all-seasons.

Apparently the car for conquering the polar vortex is a low RWD sports car on blizzaks! haha

Guys! I'm gonna be at P&L tomorrow getting my car tuned! I picked an awesome day right? Plus I'm on Pilot Super Sports and I need to drive from Urbana to get there! So, if I survive the drive there, then I'll have to survive the drive back with 3x the horsepower!

Well, Jr's flight got cancelled so, now I'm pushed back to the 12th. Perhaps I'll remain alive for a few more days yet...

It's not bad, and if you happen to be in chicago I would definitely visit. Just don't go on the opening weekend, it's way too crowded.

The ft-1 was there last year. Apparently Nissan is bringing their gt-r LeMans racer this year.
