Your not the only one!, Chin does a great job. They were in Chicagoland area for a year but unfortunately they pulled out of the market. Shame, it was well organized, safe and fun learning environment.

So it's been a while since I've posted last; been super busy.
Here's some updates on the car: Current # of track days on the car - 36!! Probably helps that running track days is now my full time job, but the car has been flawless (other than a recent P0352 code - but no performance loss noticed at the time of the code). As for mods, we added a @Rev Works UEL header, and immediately noticed a seat of the pants difference in corner exit throttle. However, we had to change up the exhaust a bit, as it was just TOO loud (DC uncatted front pipe, stock midpipe and a Berk muffler delete), so we added the stock axleback, which now it is too quiet to hear the engine on track, so we're exploring some axleback or catback options... The tune is an OpenFlash Tablet tune that was customized by Doug at TopSpeed Motorsports, and was able to get 191 whp / 156 ft lbs of torque out of it. Engine mods are RevWorks UEL, OFT custom tune, HKS drop in filter with snorkel mod, DC cat delete, stock catback. ![]() This past weekend at Road Atlanta, Randy Pobst came by to get some laps in his own car, and decided to throw him the keys to the BRZ. He did about 15 minutes in the BRZ, came back, with two thumbs up and a big smile on his face. I asked him what he thought, and he said, and I quote: "This is one of the best handling cars I have ever driven" and talked about how neutral and controlable the car was, and how impressed he was with the suspension. He also said "that's how I want my race car to handle". Only downside, my freaking GoPro stopped working (SoS message) as he was pulling onto track, so I didn't get ANY video footage of him driving the car (I got Charles Espenlaub on video driving the BRZ at Sebring last spring). Here he is on Facebook talking about it: https://www.facebook.com/randy.pobst..._comment_reply ![]() So since my GoPro failed me big time trying to get footage of Randy driving the car at Road Atlanta, I decided to toss my old Hero original, which is probably not working due to falling off a Porsche Cayman at 100+mph two months ago at Watkins Glen. I picked up a Hero 3+ Silver from Walmart on Monday for $249, plus a 64GB microSD for only $24. ![]() Also got my helmet painted by Mike Savage of Savage Designs. Seriously incredible work, the man is a true artist. I gave him an idea of colors that I wanted, he took it from there, came up with the design from scratch, and here is the final result:

Here's a writeup on replacing the driver's side rear coil (works for either driver's side coil):
Code: P0352 (Cylinder #2 - Driver's side rear coil, closest to firewall) Part #: 22433AA652 Source: Ciocca Subaru online parts site http://parts.cioccasubaru.com/p/Suba...2433AA652.html Tools Needed: 12mm socket w/ extension 10mm shallow socket Step 1: Remove the strut tower brace (12mm socket) - 3 nuts and 1 bolt. Step 2: Remove the fuel line bracket that is against the shock tower. There is one bolt holding it onto the shock tower, and you can un-clip the fuel lines from the plastic retainers. This needs to be done to make room for the HPFP heat shield / cover. Step 3: Remove the HPFP heat shield which is held on by 2 bolts (12mm), one on either side, and alignment tabs that hook into the intake manifold runners. Now you have access to the driver's side rear cylinder! (albeit it's a tight space, but I have big hands and had PLENTY of space) Step 4: Unplug the connector to the coil pack; press down on the small tab at the end of the connector and pull gently away from the coil pack - the connector should come unplugged. Step 5: Using a short 10mm socket and a thin ratchet, remove the single 10mm bolt to the left of the coil pack. Step 6: Gently use two fingers, one on each side of the coil pack, to pull it out of the cylinder, then guide the coil pack out towards the left due to the tight clearance to the frame rail, as the boot end is plenty flexible, and voila, it's out! Repeat the steps backwards to reinstall. Make sure the coil pack is secure against the spark plug, and you can check the alignment using the cylinder next to it as a reference. Start up the car and make sure there is no misfire or any indication the coil pack is not secure BEFORE you reinstall the strut tower brace, heat shield and fuel line clips. Some reference photos: ![]() ![]()

Scott, thanks for sharing the DIY on the driver side coils. We all know it's not "if" but "when" regarding these coils. It will be interesting to see if the 652 has better longevity although I bring a spare 650 in by tool box.

Yeah I'm glad it wasn't as a hard as I thought it would be, as I'm sure I'll have to do it again!
