OK, follow up and more info on this if anyone is interested:

Run is on Saturday 2/14, Valentines Day. We are leaving the YO Ranch Hotel at 9am. Last time we left the hotel at 9 and stopped at the gas station with E85 down the road on the way. It's probably not a bad idea to have a full tank and be ready to go before 9, but I can almost promise you wouldn't be the only one not ready.

It IS primarily an MR2 run, so anyone not in one needs to be in the back of the line. Don't think that will dampen your fun though, last time my boss dropped to the back and led us. He knew exactly when to literally stop before the good sections (we were "stuck" behind some slow guys since we were in the back ) and during the end of day story trading time, it came to light that we actually averaged higher speeds through certain sections. So being in the back isn't nearly as bad as you might want to think. So far there's a newer M5 coming, a C6 Z06 or two, I think a C7, an RX8, and of course my FRS. And roughly 30 MR2s of all vintages.

Significant others are always allowed, and I know there's quite a few coming on this one. My wife is, I know a few others are bringing theirs as well. Some of us will be taking things a bit slower because of that, but some had claimed they are not.

I was thinking about this today... not sure why it came into my head, but wouldn't it be fun to plan a Twin BBQ at a local park? Might be fun just to interact with fellow owners in a more relaxed setting. Could be fun for the summer time.

Edit: Also, I said fun a lot. Fun, fun, fun!

Sorry to hear.

I had a blast. Two other 86s showed up, one of which we tuned which was awesome to see, and they both seemed to enjoy themselves. We had a different leader this time so our pace seemed slower than last time, but I haven't heard any of the ~27 cars complain.

My wife ended up staying at her mom's with our baby, so I know she wants to get back down there before November..so I'm still checking here to see when you guys get out there. ...just once I figure out a proper brake solution. I had to bust out the gutter technique for a hairpin on the last leg because my brakes just outright failed for that one turn. And that one turn only.

Sounds like you had the adrenalin pumping if you were smoking brake pads! Let us know the next time you'll be coming down and we'll attempt to get a group together.

Apparently more than double the stock horsepower isn't very easy on stock rotors and calipers. 8-)

As far as consistency goes....Subaru Impreza / WRX / BRZ enthusiasts meet regularly on Thursday evenings around 7:30 pm. Check out facebook: TXIC - San Antonio for locations as they vary from week to week. Also, Cars & Coffee 8AM every 2nd Sat. of the month in front of Lowes at the Rim.
