I'm not defending her or this thread, merely providing a little more elaboration for what probably was lost in translation (from your response). For the first bold mark, I've seen a few posts by her stating she wanted more focus on the car than her in this thread. She even replies, post #23 and #27 trying to get more about the car. She has a new car and wanted to find things to do with it, like any other new owner here.


For the second, of course she could have had an alias on the site, but she was probably comfortable to use such information. She even states to follow her instagram in post #15 without showing a name to follow BUT her screen name for this site. A strategy would be, "I'll use my name and if someone wants to google and follow me, awesome two birds with one stone." Maybe not the best one, but probably seemed good at the time.

True, no questions about what to put on her car. However, post #1 states, "1st thing I want is new wheels! LOL". She wants to improve her car, and post #4 also states what she wants to do. Maybe she didn't know what questions to ask since she "was new to the whole car experience." She was looking for input.

If you look way back in the thread you will notice my original statements were the same as yours. I had no intention of going to either of the other sites until I realized that the OP posted to this one thread only and made no attempt at all to change anything in the profile after the crap started (which was pretty quick even for this forum) to be able to have normal discussions.
It all adds up to an obvious "look at me guys" no matter how many times it was written that she only wanted to talk about cars. Frankly I was a bit surprised to see pics of the car in one of the other locations.
I would be willing to bet that one of the new "guys" that have popped up here is actually her doing what could (not necessarily should) have been done in the first place.

I'm not too familiar with Instagram or how it works, but I did see her site. Personally, it's her choice in profession as to what she does. As for this site, she's still new, maybe this site isn't on her priorities list. I'm mostly on it, because I would like to receive feedback from a community of drivers.

Oh I have absolutely no objection to anybody's choice of profession and if you ever frequent the off topic lounge you will see I am far from a prude!

You may be correct in the priorities but if following the norm a new member that is truly interested will post on several threads right at the start not just focus on one. In this case that did not occur and makes it stand out that more because of the direction the thread went in.
I was surprised because with the admittedly excessive amount of time I spend on here I have seen 100s of similar posts where somebody is just trying to sell or promote something and even though they may claim to own an 86 the proof they actually do is never there.
