We get these as standard in the UK spec. The only slightly annoying thing is they are power only when the ignition is on. So if you hit "fold" and then hit the start button to kill the engine the mirrors stop folding in and you have to press the start button twice again to get the igition on, let the mirrors finish folding and then switch the car off again.

It's a cool feature to have, but you'll need the entire motorized mirror unit, controller, panel w/ cutout, and the like. Last I checked, I think the entire thing came out to around $700? not too sure, but you can find the parts on the japanparts website. Not worth it to retrofit IMO.

In philly I see this constantly drunk people we pass near your car on narrow streets and hit the mirrors just due to perhaps another car not parking close enough to the curb. Its one of the major reasons I can't live in a city or at least not without a garage

A UK owner got a quote from a dealer of 600 GBP for a new mirror. Around $1000! I think that is extorsion to be honest. OEM parts sourced from dealers are complete daylight robbery. If you built the car from dealer parts it would cost you more like $200k!

A new headlight unit is around $1200!

"Mirror" is totally different than "mirror assembly". I've not looked, but I'd be willing to bet Toyota won't sell you just the "mirror".

It was for the whole unit.

The HID headlight units are 750 GBP... about $1300... each!
