I think but Brady keeping cool and getting the ball out quickly to pretty much every one of his receivers all while going up against the best defense in the league deserves MVP.

Not many quarterbacks can keep a cool head after throwing two picks and having someone like Bennett inches away from sacking him all game.

the thing is teams go to that offense when they have a new or struggling QB to make things easier for them. no progressions. just hit the receiver before you get creamed. he's a professional that's been starting for what 10 years. he's supposed to be able to do that.

Here's another tidbit from Dan Patrick show right as they were about to go off air...........Lynch was 1 for 5 on scoring from the 1 yard line this season. So, did whomever make that play call know that stat.?

I didn't really care about the game one way or the other, but I was cheering on the Patriots for my "baby" Brother. He has Stage 4 liver cancer and this was probably his last Super Bowl he'll get to see.

He is a HUGE Patriots fan (really odd since he has lived his entire life in NC) and I know the final few minutes gave him great joy as he watched it with his wife and son (Army, just back from duty in Alaska).

ps we wouldn't be talking about Brady being the MVP if the Seachickens hadn't had their collective asses up their heads on that last play. the Pats were given that game.

how many of those were in the SB? I would take the guy averaging 5+ yards a carry over the sketchy passer throwing into traffic to a very avg receiver.

While I am not a Seattle fan and if my team had been in a similar situation I certainly would be bummed about the end result I don't understand why people get so negative. First, one could say the same thing about the NFC championship game "Seattle was given that game" when the Packers decided to meltdown and make some questionable decisions. That's sports and like all things in life hindsight is always 20/20.

As I stated before, if that play had resulted in a TD, we wouldn't even be having this debate and all we would be hearing is how brilliant the Seahawks were. Just like the Packers, the game didn't come down to one play but a series of plays in the 4th quarter changed the course of the game and resulted in a loss. The Patriots overcoming a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter and getting a critical turnover with less than 30 seconds to go was definitely not what I would argue them getting "handed the game" but instead them outplaying the opposing team when it counted just as the Seattle did to Green Bay a couple weeks prior. What goes around comes around.

Without the ability to predict events, nothing guarantees any different outcome if Seattle had decided to run the ball. Multiple possibilities exist that could have resulted in the same ending: fumble between qurterback and running back during the handoff, running back fumbling prior to the endzone, sack for a loss, runningback stopped for a loss, etc etc etc. Personally, a quick pass play seems like a smart call if you can rewind time put yourself in their position. Was it not decided at the time (by Seattle) that New England had left their run defense on the field so a quick pass play seemed the prudent move and if not converted it stops the clock? If one of the scenarios I mentioned above had played out, even if the Pats didn't get the ball, time could have easily run off the clock.

Anyway, Seattle fans should be proud of their team. They've gone to what, 3 NFC champoinship games in a row with 2 SB appearances and 1 SB win? That's pretty darn good in my book and is more than many teams in the league can boast.

that was a very very very dumb play call. what was it? that play has been called twice in the league from the 1 the entire year? it was an awful idea. literally anything else would have been a better idea. they could have ran Lynch 3 times and nobody would have called it dumb. it would have been about their ability to execute. you get the ball on the one and you're expected to score. every single player on the Pats sideline was thinking the same thing. Sea's OC got to damn cute and tried to be smarter than every person in the room and out thought himself. I've been watching UGA's former OC Mike Bobo pull shit like this for the last 10 years. I know dumb when I see it and I know when someone is trying to be to smart. they handed the Pats the game running that play. plain and simple.

that being said I was thrilled it happened. I had 8 Pats and 4 Sea in my squares pool. I also had 4 & 4 so I won 3 quarters that night. nice pay day to say the least

That play-call made me remeber the Georgia-South Carolina game this year.

When Georgia passed rather than run with Todd Gurley. It ended poorly for Georgia there as well.

bingo. I wish it was just that game though. Bobo would do that almost every week. "lets take the mediocre QB and put the fate of the game in his hands with a low percentage pass instead of go with arguably the best player in college football. they'll never see that coming!".

Well I'm back from my Superbowl party hangover. That game was much more enjoyable to watch than last year's superbowl. I won't get too carried away here, but fck... YES... WAY TO GO PATRIOTS !!

I'll drop some memes for ya'll.
