Frs exhaust

Got my exhaust done today. Custom 2.5" piping from the over pipe back. High flow cat and resonator, straight pipe back. How should I expect it to sound with an UEL installed. Feedback and Imput welcomed.

Sounds pretty good to me. How's the ground clearance on that pipe?

Is this the Jeremy with the STi?

I would expect it to sound like it had an uel header fitted.

Wellllllll you has a point. Was just seeing if I should be thinking of adding a muffler after a header upgrade.

Let's just say I need to get an actual muffler.. It sounds good if I'm cruising, gets super raspy when I open it up. Damn. Anyone in the Bay Area selling an axle back?

What kind of resonator are you running? Glass pack?

Sounds like a muffler would help out with the rasp.

I love custom exhausts, but i hate it when they don't sound as planned, which happens more than I'd like.

Not too sure on what resonator. All that I know is that it's an 18" resonator. I ordered a muffler so hopefully it'll help out a bit. If i cruise it sounds awesome, just going WOT is where it gets super raspy.

I've only done custom exhaust on all my cars and trucks. Just takes a few extra tries sometimes to get it right lol

Out of curiosity, how much was the custom work? Might it have been cheaper to piece your exhaust together?

all together I spent around $49x so lets just say $500. that covered the "HFC", 18" resonator, and 2.5" piping from the overpipe back.

I also just purchased a muffler section only to hopefully help bring down the rasp when I drive since I put on the headers, (right now its a straight pipe from the resonator back, its ungodly loud.) that set me back $180. all together $680 for basically a full exhaust set up minus the OP. might buy that as well, not too sure yet.

That's a pretty good deal considering most of us spend more than that on a CBE.

That's true. Also something else I wanted to avoid, spending too much on a catback. Luckily I found a decent shop to go to up here in norcal. But if you ever want to go to an exhaust shop in the IE, I recommend going to Ralph's mufflers in fontana. Good prices, great work.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm not far from Fontana. I'm really considering getting a resonated front pipe with high-flow cat. JDL makes one for $450, but if I could get one custom made for less, it might be worth it.
