Right after the game was over I posted to a story on Yahoo that the pass play was the worst call in the NFL this year.

Watching the Dan Patrick show and they said the worst call in Super Bowl history, so I wasn't far off in my assessment.

If Lynch can't get in in 2 or 3 more plays, then NE would deserve the win for stopping him.

Personally, I really can't call it a 'win' as it was kind of handed to them by a STUPID play call. Yeah they 'won' the game, but if Seattle had scored...............what if?

Dan Patrick said they were fortunate to win that game.......

And Brady gets a truck for MVP..........I guess GM has paid out so much money in recalls and lawsuits they couldn't afford to give him a Corvette....

We could play the IF game all day though. We could argue that Seattle was lucky to even be there considering the epic meltdown Green Bay had in the NFC championship game (and some very big plays that went in Seattle's favor at the very end of that game). Also, what about that catch last night that put Seattle inside the 5 with less than a minute to go? I couldn't believe he caught that and neither could the announcers, until they went back and review the play in slow motion. My thought, Seattle's 9 lives finally ran out at the 30 seconds left to play mark. Also, if Seattle had scored a TD off that pass/play call last night, no one would be even having this conversation right now and all we would be hearing is "how great Seattle is" (and to be fair, they are a very good football team). They also gave up a 10 point lead late in the game, just like GB gave up a 16 point lead a couple of weeks ago. Either way, I'm just glad it was a good game unlike last year's SB which was pretty much over by the half.

how do you throw 2 picks with 1 being in the endzone and still get the MVP. Edellman or Gronk maybe but not Brady. just wtf.

oh well at least it was a damn good game to watch, still can't understand that last play, i mean other than Kearse got out of bounds that should of stopped the clock on the epic catch (so they could have saved a timeout) but how do you not just feed the beast until you're out of plays.

worst play call in the history of the superbowl, you wouldn't make that play call playing in madden with montana (or brady) throwing to jerry rice when you have lynch running the way he was running all game long.

wilfork made 1 or 2 stops for 1-2 yards, the rest lynch was getting at least 4.

I am in disbelief that that game did not end with Lynch holding his nuts and getting fined.

Hell even if you don't give it to Lynch you've still got Wilson who had been running away from pass rushers all damn day.

Not my team but damn that's a shitty way to end it.

he had those two picks, but his 4th quarter was absolutely perfect.
Quote:
Brady completed 37 of 50 passes for 328 yards with four touchdown passes, each to a different receiver, including an 8-for-8, 65-yard bit of perfection on the drive that led to the go-ahead score with about 2 minutes left Sunday night. -ESPN
I credit those two picks to Seattle's great pressure on Brady most of the night, actually making him panic. Bennett was terrorizing him most of the night. But when the game was on the line... he was clutch. Gronk had a decent game, definitely not his highest number affair, 60 or so yards and 1 TD, but Edelman would have been a valid selection as well.

Honestly though, Brady broke so many Superbowl records that they pretty much felt he should have it.

2nd and 1.

2ND AND FREAKING 1! And you have 30 seconds on the clock AND A FREAKIN' TIMEOUT!
Here's the strategy for this:

2nd Down: Beast Mode
3rd Down: Beast Mode
4rd Down: BEAST MOTHER F'IN MODE!

And then if you still lose, nobody feels bad because you DID THE RIGHT THING.

I'm going to start a "Fire Darell Bevell" petition immediately while also mitigating my opinion of Russell Wilson as a intelligent quarter back. Very good, yes.. but Russell should have seen that play call and said "are you kidding me? F' that, I'm going to Beast Mode!"

Darrell makes the worst call in the history of championship football, Carroll approves the play and Russell goes along with it. Wow.. just freakin' wow.

What i didn't understand is how the spectacular catch by Kearse wasn't at least reviewed, he wasn't touched on the way down and got up and got out of bounds, that should of stopped the clock with 1:06 left, seattle would of had two timeouts and could of used one to straighten out that play call because clearly the offence was confused (lynch and baldwin on the wrong side of the field)

i'm not overly upset over a pass call, but really, a quick slant, that's the play you call, on a 2nd and 1!! with 30 seconds left to win the fucking superbowl. PLAY ACTION TO THE BEAST, and roll wilson out, he keeps or throws it away if the pass isn't there, then you feed the beast the next two plays, and watch him grab his nuts as you win a second straight superbowl.

fucking terrible, just fucking terrible.

I don't think it was doing anything amazing. it was 4-6yard dinks and dunks with the receiver breaking loose for big gains.

like I said, I think Eddleman did more on his own to deserve it or more importantly the guy who picked off that last pass. because without that they lose. that's a pretty Valuable Play right there.

That's what Brady does though, and it's worked for years, and it annoys the crap out of me.

They will always have a hard time giving an MVP to someone who doesn't touch the ball every play unless they do multiple extraordinary things that we will remember.

yeah, that's just a BS excuse. if that's the case it shouldn't be MVP it should be QB or Center(because he touches it just as much) of the Winning Team Award.
