Hey guys! 2013 Asphalt FRS here. I need a good body shop. My back bumper needs to be replaced and the front one can be fixed. I was rear ended AND backed into. Two different people a year apart. I caught 1 of them, the other I had to do file a hit and run. Can anyone recommend a place, preferably in North Vancouver, that can do a good paint match and install? Back bumper mounts are bent too so the bumper doesn't match up to the tail lights properly. Thanks!

do any of you guys happen to know if these dealerships i.e.; richmond auto mall can swap out the scion badges for toyota badges on the car for you? Also just curious if any of you guys know whether or not the grad program is year round... Unfortunately for me the offer ends jan 2 but my car doesn't come in until mid jan of 2015, but i do remember it once being available only until sep 31st of 2014 but now it's been changed to jan 2 2015. wondering if they'll extend this again

just curious does anyone know how to get a hold of trd body kits, and if they sell locally(maybe some dealerships)? Also looking for a good place to get mods done, i.e.; headlights, exhaust, body kit etc. since i'm not really the type that knows how those things are installed.

Thinking of getting an FR-S, but is it for me?
Hey guys. I'll probably post this in a more general place, but it'd be nice to hear some thoughts from fellow Vancouverites
![]() I am trying to decide whether the FR-S would be a right car for me. And yes, I will testdrive it of course, but I want to hear some opinions from people who have had it for a while. I have a fair bit of knowledge about cars and driving and I enjoy a bit of occasional, casual spirited driving. I keep it on a safe side though, by no means am I skilled or experienced. I've never drifted before, I'm not a fan of burn-outs and I don't race. My current 140hp Civic Coupe (manual) has a redline at ~7000 and it's pretty rev-happy (as far as I know, I haven't driven that many manuals). But occasional stiff/hard shifts into 2nd at high RPM and other minor shifter issues ruin the experience... So, my first question: -Does it feel natural and non-destructive to operate FR-S closer to its limit? Does the shifter feel healthy and consistent all the way through RPM range? -Would I be able to still have fun around the torque dip between 3500-4500rpm? Does it still pull adequately (I'm NOT a speed freak by any means) or is it actually annoyingly weak in that range? I'd be nice to not have to go past 5000 every time I want to overtake. 95% of my driving is to work and running errands, which I still enjoy with some good music, taking a corner or two a bit quicker than usual traffic, but obviously it's no track driving. Besides that, I just like using the shifter and feeling like I'm in something alive and beautiful, not in something like a beige-gray ecobox with "best-in-class dullness". So, the question is: -Is it a pleasure on it's own with occasional fun driving (I'm not talking about creature comforts and bells and whistles)? Or is it not worth it unless I know how to drive a RWD car fast, drift it, mod it, etc? I noticed that the general consensus on practicality was that FR-S is practical for a sports car, but still lacks practicality in a general sense. So, -Is there anything terribly impractical for a young male driver with no kids, not picky about extra creature comforts, happy with the MPG specs, etc? And finally: -The infamous cricket/chirping fuel pump. Does everyone has this issue? Do you hear it only when idling? Can you really hear it from the inside of the car? Thanks guys! |

sounds like you're a brz type of guy lol jk it performs better when you get to the 4k-7k rpm range does it feel healthy? its ok. you might want some parts upgrade if you don't feel like its up to your standards of "healthyness" this car will perform excellent if you travel to work with a lot of turns. |

-The shifter can be a mixed bag sometimes. Especially when cold and at low RPMs (around 2K) it can be really notchy. At high RPM and when warm it's great, extremely precise. However, if you prefer the "Honda buttery" feeling, then this may not be for you.
-The torque dip is noticeable. However, if I really need the push I just downshift. A lot of people fix this with headers and tune. -It's great for everyday driving, but it is much firmer than most. You will notice right away. If you live in an area with bumpy roads on your commute, you may want to try taking another test drive to feel it again. Coming from a civic you may not notice the lack of power. -I sometimes have seconds thoughts on if I should have gotten the WRX when I need to drive more than one person, though 95% of my driving is by myself so this goes away quickly. You will also have some trouble picking up people at the airport if this is your only car. -Crickets are pretty much for everyone. Fill it with 94 Chevron or 91 Esso all the time (0% ethanol) and you'll be fine. |

Hey Vancouver-area 86-buddies!
I'm in Ottawa but I am planning a short trip to Van/Vic at the end of July to visit some family. While I am there, I'd love to meet up with some of you and see your rides ![]() I won't have a car at all, unless I rent one for a day maybe. I'll check out around more of this thread to see if there are any regular meets planned while I'm there. Thanks, Ken

Out here on vacation visiting my son in Vancouver and while he at work during the week I drove my rental (2015 VW Gulf TSi) up highway 99 to Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. Oh how I wish I had my BRZ here. Fantastic drive. So many corners to carve.
