I have NLB and Dragon's Breath. Both are fun but not really worth an exotic slot at the moment, imo.
NLB needs serious tweaking; it just fires way too slowly and has too low of an ammo count to ever compete with anything in terms of DPS in PvE situations. It also zooms way, way too far in (how do you zoom in that far using IRON SIGHTS?). I just use it messing around on patrol. PvP is slightly different, since it lets you run a sniper and another special, such as a fusion, that you could swap to if you miss your one-hit kill shot. Still wouldn't personally recommend it, as I prefer Praedyth's in PvP since it's super stable and allows quick sniper double shots, and save my exotic slot for either Thorn or Thunderlord. |

Xur has garbage again.
Seems like these stupid DLC weapons/strikes/everything are on heavy rotation. So annoying because most of the DLC sucks.

Edit-it could also be Bungie's way of saying "hey, you all cried about Ice Breaker so we gave it to you know you'll have to deal with garbage for the next month". I'm guessing NLB next week. lol |

I'm beginning to get a strong feeling Xur's inventory is not dictated by a RNB, but is, in fact, a planned inventory schedule.

Or everything is still technically random but Bumgie dictates certain items are very heavily weighted so the more desired items just have very little chance.
For instance, say Icebreaker has a 2% chance just like every other exotic in Xur's inventory, NLB is 2% as well, but NLB is entered into the table 45 times where IB is only once. |

This is the EXACT same inventory he had on January 2nd. The chances of that are so small. Clearly not random.

yeah, someone did the math on the probability and it was like 1/10206 chance.

Just because it's a small chance doesn't mean that it's "clearly" not random. If it can happen then there's always a possibility. People have hit the lottery twice in a row before, and that's a much smaller chance.
I wonder if it's all entirely randomized, or if they have a specific set of item groupings that he could possibly sell, and then the RNG chooses from one of those groups to see what we'll get. I'd believe the latter one, most likely. That gives them the option of engram vs no engram, or offering ammo/not, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if he was weighted to offer the new DLC stuff more often than the old gear, as well. |

It's not like they have one team, and that team is only working on one set of bugs. They probably have several teams that are working on different things. I'll use the Atheon fall exploit as an example. That's a designer's job. All they had to do was add a bumper and bingo, done. In the case of the ammo bug, it's nested in code that breaks other things when that variable is changed. So now they're got several of their programmers working on that with a QA team most likely, patching, testing, patching again.. Deploying a patch that has the potential to significantly change something into a live operation is fucking terrifying sometimes. So it's a matter of ironing everything out, making sure that nothing else is going to break when you fix another thing. I'm not trying to defend them to any degree. I'm just trying to give a layman's understanding of the situation. I'm not really good with code, but I wouldn't consider having things nested so deep that it makes them damn near impossible to fix if/when they break best coding practice. |

Look, I'm not harping on you. IMO, it just comes down to priorities. Certainly I'm no coder and I know it isn't an easy job. But "fixing" things that aren't "broken" (and introducing bugs because of said tinkering) while igoring legitimate complaints/bugs is something that has irritated a decent portion of the fan base and rightfully so. In the end, I just enjoy the elements of the game that I like doing and have the time for. I'm certainly not one of those who's yelled at Bungie or stormed off, I mean I still play on almost a daily basis and I probably have around 500 hours into this game now. This weekend is the first time I actually started and finished the new Raid though because after the last patch guess what, Crota was "buggy" and after trying to beat him for 3 hours it got so late we had to give up. @f0rge can back that one up. |

I'm not going to say its trivial to fix the problem, but as someone whose been programming for awhile now, and the fact this has been a bug since day one, makes me believe they fundamentally programmed something wrong and just now figured out a band aid fix for it. I don't know if they are tackling the root cause or not. Hopefully they are because its likely if its a band aid there will be more bugs somewhere.
But, yeah I am also irritated that they have time to kill cheeses (and often make new bugs because they rushed to eliminate the cheese) but that they can't fix bugs in the raids that often cause people to not even be able to finish raids. To this very day I have not had a single raid or play though not have at least some bug pop up, and it pisses me off when that bug is the difference between a team wipe or a victory. Shoot I remember playing the will of crota strike on nightfall the whole team wiped because Shanks just appear out of nowhere right in front of you (still not completely fixed either). I'm perfectly cool with them killing cheeses as I like to play the game legit, but damn don't make new bugs and act like there aren't game breaking bugs to fix. |
