^ This. I was all excited when I saw them in the pictures. Slightly disappointed when I actually sat in my car and felt them. Then pretty annoyed when I realized I had a bruise on the right side of my right knee. |

I guess that must be an advantage of being relatively short, I can honestly say I've never banged either knee on the sides where I felt I needed pads.

I think its just the fact that I rest my knee against there and it rubs around against the "pad" as I drive around. Meh.
It COULD also be unrelated, but I couldnt think of anything else at the time that could have given me the bruise. Havent driven in a few weeks due to snow/weather, so I cant confirm till later. Definitely buying JDM Coachworks pads if I get bruised again. |

Doubt it all that difficult. Not gonna pull them to look though.
Mine are more decorative then functional as Like Dadhawk said I have never even touched one with a knee.

Knee pads are also standard in the UK, as is Touch Screen audio w/ BlueTooth, Smart phone integration, Handsfree, USB, MP3s, etc. etc.

Check the DIY forum... You have to remove a few things before they pull off IIRC.
I can't see the pictures (IT blocks photo hosts here @ work), but I saved this DIY for some reason, and I *thought* it might have the kneepad removal in it... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53511 |

There's more Monograms out there than websites usually list. Some dealerships neglect to even list them on their website. Best thing to do is go to your local dealership and have them locate you one. If they're doing their job right, they'll actually do a search, offer to have it shipped over to their dealership from the other dealership, with you possibly paying for the ground to ground shipping. If they're not doing their job right, they'll try to turn you towards the regular FR-S either because they either don't know what model number to search for (tell me if you want manual or automatic and I'll give you the model to tell them to search for), or they're just ignoring the "Scion promise" of getting you the car you want and how you want it. If the latter, tell them they're not following the Scion promise of transparency and personalization.
And as others have pointed out, another option is the BRZ Limited, which is the Subaru equivalent. |

I still get a kick out of "dual zone" climate control in a phone both. And the thread where a push-button-start owner had to stall the car to keep the radio on was entertaining.
6' even. WTH are people banging so hard they get bruises? |

Yea, I have dual zone in mine. If someone is too hot/too cold I reach over and adjust the vent for them.

Clutch down: Press = Engine Start Clutch up: Press once: Accessories, Press twice: ignition, Press thrice, Power off. Car running (and stationary): Press = Engine stop and power off There is no way to get from engine running to accessories. There are advantages to the key less system though. No need to get the key out of your pocket. Just walk up to the car and the courtesy light comes on, tough the door handle and it unlocks. Get out, tap the door handle, it locks. The dual climate actually works fine. It's more useful in summer when you get people who don't like cold air being blown at them. They get all upset and grumpy if you put the aircon on. So you let them set their side to 29C or whatever lizards like and keep your flow of lovely cold air around your hands and face. It's not just that it is "dual", it's pretty smart when in auto mode too. For example when it's cold and damp outside it defaults to "Feet and Window" flow, Air Con off. Demist mode brings the AC on, Window flow and ramps the fan up to max. It's the little things like that and it keeps the fan on minimum until heater actually starts working, then turns it up, rather than blow cold air at you in winter mornings... then it turns it back down when the car is warm, it actually works. Set your prefered temp, hit AUTO and it does the job without you needing to fiddle. It will turn aircon on/off, recirc on/off, open and close heating vents, adjust the fan etc and does a pretty fine job imho. The other nice feature is you can override some settings or go full manual.

I do miss that. My 1985 MR2 had that feature (without dual climate control). With the exception of my Suburban (which has dual, well actually triple zone climate control) I don't think I've ever owned another car that had it.

Thanks people, didn't expect this many answers over night ... wow.
I live in MA, US. The reason that I am looking for a FRS is because I like the front bumper of the FRS more, and that's just personal preference. Is it possible to change the front bumper of a BRZ to match the FRS looking? |
