So i know this is a ptunning thread, but I'm really torn between this kit and the full-blown kit? Anyone care to break down the pros and cons of the low mount kit opposed to the little more traditional front mount kit? i won't lie I'm a little concerned living in Michigan with the turbo being so close to the muck that is Michigan winter and having it get ruined by that?

As for the salt in the winter, I would say that the turbo will get less road muck on it than your transmission, suspension and brakes would. The metal in the turbo is probably stronger and longer lasting than most metals in the car. There's a video in my thread you can watch to see how the turbo is placed which will give you a better understanding of it all. The turbo is mounted to the transmission and directly behind the steering shaft. It is also covered by the under-trays. |

Awesome, thanks for the insight, yeah I've been battling with the kit i want both are in the price range i was looking at and both give excellent power so i had been really racking my head about it. thats a great point about pulling the heat out of the engine bay though, i didn't think about that at first.

I keep eyeing this turbo kit and comparing it to the KW supercharger. The torque/HP AUCs and turbo location are really ideal, but the removal of the body braces makes me a bit uncomfortable about body rigidity.
Would anyone be able to chime in here about if one could have a custom intake pipe, that avoids removing the passenger side diagonal brace, routed to the stock air box without greatly effecting the overall turbo performance?
