You're expecting your engine to make the same engine noises as every other car you have owned? Kind of ignorant, in my humble opinion. I wonder if you would be complaining about the ticking noises of the injectors if the pump didn't chirp.

this is why forums die because people turn a simple question and answer into a joke like this. why are you so set on being a ****? all i wanted to know is if there is an easier fix to remove the chirping noise but instead of being a helpful member you want to call others ignorant and tell me how i will react to noises when you dont know me?

"You're expecting your engine to make the same engine noises as every other car you have owned?" -and when did i ever say this?

By saying "it shouldn't be there".
Based on what then?

how do you even know what cars i have owned prior to the twins?
based on the TSB that says the chirping should not be there..

this pissing match is pointless... all i wanted to know is if anyone has used the lucas fuel injector cleaner on their car and noticed a change in the chirping.

Your simple question has already been answered multiple pages ago, and in a few threads now.

Simply put, I don't know. But the engine configuration is fairly unique and was new to the lineup when the FR-S was introduced, that much I do know.

Fine, to summarize, the results are mixed.

To say I'm surprised would be an overstatement.

where's the hard data that proves the new fuel pump improves MPG?

If you read further into the threads you will usually (not always) find that the guys that started out loving it eventual come back and say not to use the cleaner all the time! The cleaner is exactly that and is not intended for long term use. Besides it is not the injectors making the noise but the fuel pump.

And... after reading more posts on the subject than any rational person should I have come to the ironclad conclusion that there is no one solution that works for everybody.

And...and... Although annoying it is "normal" for these systems not a "problem" and it isn't going away (yet) no matter how many pumps you throw at it.

I have had crickets for exactly 3 days since I bought the car!
That also means that we had exactly 3 days of really hot weather in August.

seems for a good size group of members that running non ethanol gas makes the crickets disapear. and hunter i just went thru all the posts on this thread and it seems that there are arguments for and against every possible fix but no one way to solve this issue yet. yes i understand its not a damaging noise and causes no problems but its more of an annoyance than anything. even people who dont know cars know that this sort of chirp noise is not an attractive noise and i guess that just boils down to caring about what people think about your car when they pull up next to you.

This why I'm surprised they did the TSB for it, as I thought it was relatively "normal" as well.

All Canadian TSBs for it have been suspended.
I think it was more of a PR thing in the first place as they knew that it didn't work for most.
