I will for sure be buying this kit. I love the spoiler. I'll most likely have two trunks one equipped with the Trd duckbill and one with the nur spec

*flame suit on* I personally really like the kit. I think it looks good, however I'd like to know whether its functional or not. I assume it is.
I also feel like in order to pull of the kit you'd need some extensive modification to justify it. I mean like good aftermarket coilovers (ast, moton, ohlins) good lightweight wheels, nice sticky tires. And also some power mods like a crazy NA build, turbo or supercharger. Basically I feel like the kit would fit on the car if it was a daily driven street car but also serious a autocross/track car for the weekend. Or just a full out dedicated track car. |

Those women are FUGLY! They look like they were randomly picked up from a bus station. Each his own, but if that's all they could get, the car would have done just fine without these appalling creatures.

That chrome trimmed garnish may have been put on at the last minute on the rear diffuser, cause it's not on the car on the flat bed.
I dont mind if the car doesnt come with exhaust tips since the whole unit would be the 1st thing to go! ...maybe they havent decided which tips they will use for the arab world: Coke can? (usdm)or coffee can? (euro/jdm) But they like big and gawdy so they'll go with big tips! ...THAT PINAY CHICA IS GORGEOUS! GUAPA! CUTIE-PA-TUTI!

I am sorry, but that body kit is tacky as hell. I would like to see the computational fluid dynamics results, and the methodology from which they were derived used to justify all that crap. How fast does the car have to go in order to get any appreciable downforce from that spoiler and the other "aero" features...?
As a minimalist vehicle with low power and torque output, and heavy reliance on mechanical grip, this car (and the BRZ) should be about light weight, and low drag. Unless there is a good reason for the applique body parts, then ditch it. In my opinion those components are very much a step in the wrong direction.

All these mods at the same time scream ricey, but one or two of them would be a nice addition to the 86.

LOL... I love all the reviews on any car forum by guys who know more about aerodynamics than car manufacturers or race teams.
![]() There was an article I read some years ago, in either Car & Driver or Top Gear (can't remember which; used to read both) about the Mitsubishi Evolution RS. The reviewer started off the article by apologizing that he'd secretly hated the giant wings on both the Evo and the STi, and thought they existed solely to appeal to a childish boy-racer demographic. But he said after driving the wingless version of the car, he'd come to understand that the spoiler on the standard Evo actually did have a noticeable effect on the car's handling. He said he was blown away by how unsettled the car felt (in comparison to the standard model) in not just high speed turns, but even lower speed curves too. That's the article I think of every time I start reading the "dis car don't got enough HP for a big spoiler" posts. Guys, remember... horsepower and speed are two entirely different things, and you would be surprised at how much effect a proper spoiler can have on a car even at low speeds. If you don't like or don't want a big, goofy spoiler for aesthetic reasons, I very much respect that opinion. You think the trade-off in weight vs. downforce (vs. style) isn't worth it... sure, valid argument. But just don't say that it has no effect at all on the car's handling, okay? |
