I don't have the garage space/time/money/interest for both of them and the BRZ is a better car. I still loved and miss the WRX, but it isn't for me anymore. I just know there's a better fate for it than going straight to the junk yard.

doesn't looks too bad but is it really worth it ? I am guessing it would be 2k-3k of repair. how much does it go for now? I think part out would be the most rational decision. I sold my 04 WRX wagon last year and replaced it with a BRZ too

I think you're probably right and whatever happens, I'm not fixing it. This guy will buy it and fix it or I'll part it out. I'm torn because it would be a lot of work and crap laying around, but I really want the seats for my living room.

It's either going to cost 2 doors and a lot of hours or it's not going to happen. This dude would do the body work, not take it to a bodyshop. He's always buying up and fixing Subarus.

Looks like a good donor car for a Factory Five 818 build

If that car holds that much of a special place in your heart like you say it does, you could always fix it and then just keep the car. You picked the car back up for next to nothing and while it's going to cost a good chunk of $$ to fix, you could have the car back.

Or if that's not a realistic option, I would just part the car out and sell off the shell to somebody.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Saw an 818 at Sebring over the weekend for the first time. Love it.

he can get two used doors for $200-$400 each and maybe in same color (so they just have to repaint outside to blend). rest are labors and paint jobs, i think it is really depends on what hour rates he is getting. I thought the impact actually not too bad for a t-boned and the bottom of the car looks ok that even side skirt are still intact. of course it just my guess because I dont know how extensive it is. assuming the bottom end is ok than it is doable in southern california because I seen it done before.

The dude came and looked at it last night and says he can fix it. He's working with the current owner on a price - he'd buy it and do whatever he wants with it. If the number beats what we could do parting it out (figuring in the ton of work) he'll probably end up with it.
