Here's my problem...last year I loaded my first stg2 tune from the OFT as it was out of the box. Those tunes were "B01C" tunes. Now that I've updated the tablet with the latest OFManager (1.15.1) the CAL says ZA1JB00C so I uploaded the Stage 2 UEL B00C tune. After plugging into the car it gives me an error when trying to write to the ECU and says try again. When I cancel out of that and do an "info" the tablet says my ECU is a B01C.

Seems it wants a B01C tune, but the tablet won't let me upload a B01C tune, only the B00C tune. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!
sounds like oft has got confused about calid.

try deleting all 5 tune files in the mod slots (not your stock tune) in the oft.

then load up the full tunes you want.

if still no go ring the guys at openflash

Ok, nothing is foolproof to a determined-enough fool!

I tried it again and it works as I expected it to the first time. I think in my over diligence with the key off, key on, that I maybe didn't turn the key fully on when trying to write...only thing I can think of.

New tune is in the car and it runs fine. Once it learns a bit I'll see if there are improvements with this 93 octane tune over my old one.

Thanks again for your help for this determined fool!

@Shiv@Openflash

Ever seen this before? It still works fine when connected to the car...

EDIT: Was plugged into a USB 3.0 port, switching to USB 2.0 made it work.

Recently just purchased a used OFT from another member on the forums. I believe it is unmarried as when I plug it into my car I'm allowed to choose between the stock rom (already the same as what is in the ECU) and the previous rom that was in OFT which is the phantom SC. When I plug into my comp I get the error (0XE1 while communicating with device). I've previously owned an OFT last year and I did not have this issue.

Beat me to it You are correct, USB 3.0 doesn't work with properly with OpenFlash Manager. Stick to 2.0 and you'll be good to go.

If you purchased an unmarried/erased OFT, upon plugging it it to your car you should be asked to make a vehicle selection (Toyota->GT86) when you first try to install/read your ECU. If you see tune files already loaded on the OFT, it is not unmarried.

To unmarry it, connect it to OF Manager and go to ERASE DATA. Once it erases, it's as good as new and can be installed (as new) in your vehicle. If it tells you that the ECU must be flashed back to stock before the device can be erased, then the person who sold you the OFT needs to flash his car back to stock before selling it to you.

If the ERASE DATA selection is greyed out (unselectable), then email sales@openflashperformance.com the serial number of the OFT and we can fix that remotely.

Cheers,
shiv

It's still Sunday here in the States so the sales team won't be here for another 15hrs. But if you email me your serial number (shiv@openflashperformance.com) I can take care of this for you myself. I tend to work on weekends.

forgive me if this is a common issue that has been raised before -

I just noticed that Openflash manager reads that my device has firmware 1.29. The device itself reports firmware 1.32. Doesn't seem to be causing any practical issues though.

The next time you quit and reopen OF Manager it will read 1.32. But you are correct, they are no practical issues with the mismatch.

Nope. It's been like this for months. Ive opened closed many times, i've upgraded to 1.15.1, updated device. etc. It's not changing.

Strange. What you can do is delete your entire Openflash folder and just install it from scratch using the latest 1.15.1 installer. That should do the trick
