Oh, don't get me wrong the FRS is superior in all ways for my current wants and needs but if looking for more space, etc...

I'm sure I'll get laughed at, but I wish the hub spacing was the same on those TC wheels because I'd swap them out for the OEM FR-S rims - though I prefer the regular ones that aren't all blacked out.

The only people who notice the turbo in the Veloster are those who have driven the Veloster without one.

I looked into one when looking for a commuter car after getting rid of my truck. They have some pretty cool standard features and are very unique looking, but the turbo was lethargic. I was sold on it because of the handy tech features, wasn't really looking for a racecar and didn't think I would find anything better within my budget. I told the salesman that I wanted to drive the Scion FRS first just out of curiosity and that as long as it didn't drive 10x better, I'd be back to buy the Veloster.

I'm not on the Veloster forum

Had a rental turbo for a week and totally despised the thing by the time I turned it back in. R-spec may have been better though.
My good friend/last roommate in AZ dailys a non-turbo Veloster. I actually liked it. I think it'd be a lot better with the stiffer springs on the R-Spec though. I just really like the look of them too.

Lol yeah, I wouldn't take one over an FR-S. However, if I had to get rid of the FR-S and buy a new FWD car for around the same price point the R-Spec would definitely be a contender. Even though I know Fiesta ST is the right answer. haha

Anyone know if the rocket bunny wing would fit on it? Might get one and paint it orange. Not sure how it would look

haha that is correct.

I agree with you that they are a cool looking car... and they're really damn functional for what they are. However, the driving experience between the Veloster (especially the non-turbo) and the FRS is like a Crown Vic to a Porsche... you can tell the difference immediately lol.

Personally I'd never trade in my FR-S for a TC but that is because I want a small sports car not a small sporty car.

On the other hand if I was in the market for a small sporty car I'd definitely consider a TC release series.

In September I bought my oldest son a 2009 Scion TC Release series. I gotta say its a damn nice car with lots of features and it is fun to drive.
His release series came with:
  • TRD lowering springs
  • TRD wheels
  • TRD Exhaust
  • Special designed bucket seats
  • Some kind of special sound system with a sub woofer that puts out a ton of bass
There is probably more to it but those are what stuck out the most.

For what the TC is designed for I'd choose it over a freaking jelly bean civic.

That paint scheme is really ugly IMO. It's like something that a die-hard Orioles fan would do to his car.
