Exhaust pipes should be covered in soot.

Speaking of taste, I'm in China right now and I saw my first Maybach (a 62S), my first 458 Italia up close, and my first Lambo Aventador (not sure how I managed to never spot one of these up till now...they look way sexier in person, super super low). Also some guy in a Porsche 991 tailgated us and honked his horn for several seconds when the road was empty. I also saw a hideous matte pink BMW 4 series. New money douchebags.

Strangely, there's also a shitload of VW Phaetons, which was also a first sighting for me. I guess some rich people are clever enough to try to avoid the spotlight.

Taipei was more of an eyesore though. Weird purple lights stuck to the bottom of cars is a thing over there, especially taxis. Lots of Lancers with fake scoops, Evo spoiler, and "turbo" stickers. Often times a new Porsche 911 would drive by with a super loud modified exhaust, and ALWAYS covered in stickers. They really like their stickers.

Both sound like Richmond here (minus the Maybach). Riced out Aston Martins, R8s and Maseratis. Probably the same family. Daddy in China, son here watching over the money they are quietly sneaking out of the country. Fuck capital flight.

Maybach was in another city (Chengdu). In the mainland people typically don't rice their cars, since why would you spend money on upgrades when you could put that money towards getting a more expensive car to show off. Oh, today I saw 4 Rolls Royces.

In Taiwan though, it's all about turning your car into a disco ball, then putting "turbo" stickers and expensive rims on. I swear, 50% of the taxis had Enkeis, ridiculous colored lighting under the bumpers, or ridiculous bodywork. Or if you're a 911 owner, a muffler delete so that everyone can hear you driving like an ass, with some stickers so they can remember which ass it was.

Here the ones that stand out are R8s that have all their panel gaps covered in some high contrast edging to make them look like a terrible wireframe Tron car or something. Awful.
