You won't get pulled over, but you can get a violation while the car is parked and the cop just wants to be a ****. I have never run a front plate on any of my cars, but have received two tickets because of it. The first time I had my car parked on the side of the road near my work (legally parked!) when I was trying to sell it (I had a for sale sign in the window). When I left work to get my car there was a ticket on the windshield waiting for me. The second time I was parked at an airport car park. I was gone for two weeks. Got home, took the shuttle to my car, and blam ticket on the windshield.

I don't know if this will be the same for Toyota, but a co-worker of mine purchased a new Acura a while back and they installed the front plate when she asked them not to. In order to install it they needed to drill into the painted bumper. In order to appease her they color matched these little caps that they snapped into the bumper to cover the holes. While you can see them up close--if you are looking for them--it is a nice remedy and if he ever wanted to put the plate back on she can pop out the caps.

It might be worth making a fuss to see if they will do the same.

I bought my car almost 2 years ago. I only made a small fuss at the dealership, and they basically said they would give me free touch up paint if I wanted. The damage was so small I didn't care enough to get it resolved. sorry im not much help here

That is 100% your fault for accepting delivery like that. Might be best to get some color matched plugs, then a bracket of your choice.

Never had the bracket on delivery.

Plates came in, sales guy offered to put it on and about to take it from me.

Said nooooooooooope, I'll take care of it myself.

Never put it on.

Not sure if dealer will heed your request tho
