Hey guys, ended up with a Charger RT Max

I got it for 32K on a steal after driving it once at the dealership. Man that 5.7 Hemi kicks some ass regardless of how big the Charger is :-) And the RT Max has every conceivable feature interior wise: navigation, leather, touch screen, GPS, you name it. I honestly had no intention of buying it until after the test drive, then somehow I was sold. It's just one of those things, you drive something with a huge V8 like that, you get a smile on your face.

I do love the FR-S, but I just couldn't resist it for the marginal increase in price for the RT Max.

Nice, but that is the total opposite of an FR-S lol.

I know, it's the damndest thing. I wasn't even going into the place wanting it. But I was like, at the end, every option included ( even HIDs and GPS and touch screen), and then I was like 390 horsepower, and then I was like, I can live with the weight and size difference Seriously, I still love the FR-S and everything it stands for. Big advocate.

All the features you mentioned can be found on the BRZ Limited. I'm glad you like the Charger, but it's really such a different animal from an FR-S/BRZ that it really surprises me that you were swayed at all.

It's weird because I should regret it, because for months I loved the very concept of the FR-S. I still do. I love every conceivable aspect of it. The size, the concept of small RWD sports cars again. Everything. But I don't have any feeling of compromise with what I got. In a sense I got a bigger sized RWD with a bigger motor to compensate, but still is very fun to drive. And I wouldn't have known any of that if I hadn't done that test drive. Like I said, damndest thing, I just saw it and I was like hey, I can test drive anything, I'm a normal person with a clean driving record and a license (hah I don't test drive a lot of cars). So I walked in there and did, and bought it LOL Maybe I'm one of those people without a lot of self control when it comes to final decisions, but for the life of me I have no regret at all, and I have regret with every major purchase in my life. Must be a good sign that it's a no regret type of product.

By the way it's Pitch Black color With 20 inch shiny chromes. The only way to roll I would think in this kinda car. LOL

Oh it even has Keyless Go for the price!!! Like no key. I thought that was very cool. Never thought I'd be driving in a car with that. That's like snooty BMWs hah

Congrats, but looking at your past posts I'm not surprised.

Sure you liked the idea of the 86 but you ultimately loved POWER more!

It was a moment of weakness. We'll forgive you...

congrats! no need to feel guilty, it's all about driving whatever makes you happy! it is funny considering you went from wanting an FR-S to buying something completely on the other side of the spectrum. but hey if you're happy who cares?

I can one up that experience. Back in 2002, I had been on a waiting list to order a Porsche 911 Turbo. Dealership got one in, I went in, sat in it, looked it over... and got cold feet. Car just felt... sterile.

On the way home, I stopped by the local mall, and was stunned to see they had a Mini Cooper sitting there on display. They'd gone on sale literally two days before for the first time in like 30 years in America, and somehow I'd missed out on that info. Went to the dealership and bought one the next day.

Regret: 0.

Gratz. I love Charger, but it's just a bit too big for me.

lol, seattle is probably the worst place ever to own a muscle car. It rains constantly and there are hills everywhere with narrow streets. And on the expressways people block every lane going 5 under even when there is very little traffic. Literally there is nowhere you will be able to drive faster than if you had a yaris but you get like half the mpg. I guess you can still enjoy pissing off all the smelly hippies from driving a gas guzzler...
