Could you take a pic that shows the car overall with the tow hooks in? I'm wondering how these look if you just leave them in for a bit of added bumper protection.

The catch tank does simply this. The part of emissions systems require crank-case gasses to escape through the intake system to make sure any pollutants will be fed back through the engine, and burned up so that it can be cleaned before it shoots out of your muffler. In practice, and in normal driving, by design, this is fine, and works well as designed.

However, in the case of sustained high rpm use on the raceway, this gas flow in the EGR and CVS is so much, and oils being shaken around with lateral and longitudinal forces, that a lot of engine oils can blow through, making the intake plenum a bit greasy or even oily.

The catch tank simply filters and separates the oil when this happens, so that the EGR/PCV gasses returning to the intake can be free of heavy oils.

Yeah, since this is not a decorative item and is a FULLY functional race venue tow hook, the hooks are rather beefy and protrudes out of the car a couple inches. As for leaving it on in a daily driven car, that is up to the owner to decide, if this is ideal. It will damage any car that might bump into you in a parking area or parallel parked...LOL. And will make loading into a flatbed truck easier if you smash your own car into a wall...
It does secure with standard tow hook opening on the car, and does anchor well with locking lugs.

Is the master cylinder brace built into the strut bar?

LOL, I don't know what all that stuff does (physical forces speaking) but I think I agree with Calum.

Having that bar with the 90 degree welds on it, won't be strong enough to stop any forces that may try to make the strut towers move in towards each other, or out away from each other. You'd need a nice solid 45 degree angle on those to the bolt point on the towers.

All it will accomplish is allowing both towers to move in tandem, which I would think is just as bad for any component meant to add rigidity to the chassis.

But then again, I'm an idiot and say only what I see and my meager mind can comprehend.

It makes a difference in older Hondas as well. The firewall does actually flex slightly if you get on the brakes hard. Its a mod thats along the same lines as going with SS brake lines.

I do however agree the strut tower bar is useless given the joints. Im cheap, so Ill probably end up building my own anyway.
