Okay to swap Rotors for tracks days only in fronts?
I am getting tired of my pads squealing like a pig. Thus what I am going to do is run 2 sets of pads. Street pad and a race pad for track days. To keep costs lower, can I only swap the front rotors and use the backs full 24/7.
Second question. Looking for a good street pad with good bite, zero noise and low dusting. I have heard good things about the winmax W2 pads. This will be for street and canyon runs only. Plan to run Centric Plain rotors for the street and keep my existing stock one for track duty only. I also plan to add steel lines, and a MBC. |

You don't need to swap rotors to run different sets of pads.

Just bed the track pads following the normal procedure if you are changing them the day before.
I have just come to accept that the track will be a noisy day and don't worry about the squealing. |

Sorry, misread your post. Once you switch back to street pads they should not squeal.
One tip, make sure you use brake shims with grease on both sets of pads. |

If you run pads by the same manufacturer, you shouldn't have to re-bed them after swapping pads.
I believe Carbotech even advertises this for their pads.

Is this true? So if i were to run all carbotech or winmax pads, bedding them is not needed?

Buy Cobalt's for track pads, no bedding required. Just slap them on and go. I love them and refuse to run anything else now.
I've got about 2 years, 30+ track days and almost 8,000 track miles on Cobalt XR2 pads, front and rear, and they are by far the best pad I've used on the BRZ. Super consistent pedal feel, no weird material transfer issues like I got with the Carbotechs, very easy to modulate, and are easy on rotors.

Like any track pad, they squeal like crazy when cold, so just use your OEM pads for street use.

It's not an issue at all. The car stops better with track pads on both ends, but I had no issues when I only used them in front.

Running different pads front and rear wasn't the OPs question.
