Whatever the dealer installed, it was probably junk. Dealers usually try to upsell paint protection packages when you purchase the cars. If it were me, I would not let the dealer or any of their contractor install a paint coating on the car. The reason being that dealership detailers are notoriously bad and the products they use don't actually do what they claim to do.

For the record, there are NO permanent paint coatings on the market. They all have some type of life. Depending on what product is installed, it will determine the expected life of the products. Life of a coating is usually 2 years give or take. I imagine has products are further R&D'ed, the life of the product will start to improve.

I recently just bought the Yuzu RS 1.0. Should I add in this OptiCoat Pro on it? The dealer was offering Simoniz Glass Coat for $800 , which just sounds ridiculous. What is normal price for applying opticoat ? I went to the opticoat webiste and there seems to be one dealer near my location.

You should expect to pay $1000+ to start for an OptiCoat Pro installation.

I can't help with the paint protection, I've always been a little skeptical of those types of things (maybe I just don't understand what it is or how it works), but if the pollen marks are like the ones I get, I pre-soak with water so they start to dissolve, then wash. Sometimes I get residual staining that won't come off, it usually disappears in a day or two when exposed to the sun though.
