I just spotted that our local INEX Legends champion Devin Robertson took the World INEX Legend title in Viginia USA last weekend.
WOW!! Feeling good to be South African ![]() http://www.motorsport.co.za/News/Dis...spx?niid=44068 And who can put up video clips of mixing it with a world champion on a racetrack? I CAN!! ![]() Devin practicing - taken from my car on 14 Sept at Midvaal. It would have been real cool if I'd passed him, but that'll only happen in my dreams - LOL These clips are from different sessions - at least he didn't pass me twice in one heat. Sad that video doesn't convey the intensity of the moment. It's exhilirating experiences like this that keep drawing me back to racetracks. ![]() [ame="http://youtu.be/P1mGQtlFQ8I"]http://youtu.be/P1mGQtlFQ8I[/ame] [ame="http://youtu.be/20Rag1U5u88"]http://youtu.be/20Rag1U5u88[/ame]

Before and After.
A must-do every few months if you're de-catted because they don't wash clean, but a quick rub with Brasso and they're like new again.

Very pleased with how my track tyres are holding up.
They're second-hand Bridgestone RE11S's 225/45-17 and I've done about 200 dry laps at Midvaal and 50 wet laps at Zwartkops since I got them, and they're still looking good for some more track days

After a super weekend playing on track, this was the only non-feel-good thing.
I need gloves - my steering wheel and my hands take a beating...

Devin's in-car video (50Mb) PS: Having played with a Legend car at The Rock Raceway, I have massive respect for his skills. They're not easy to drive fast - no power steering, no power brakes, no power anything - except the power to the back axle, and there's lots of that... Like a go-kart on steroids...[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=iOwD3pzp3-A"]2014 Legend World Finals Pro Feature - YouTube[/ame]

Next week, we're off to KZN for a week of fishing, geocaching, and visiting kids/grandkids, but the real highlight for me is that I've arranged some track time on KZN's "beware of the trees" circuit
![]() And yes, you can load 16' carp rods (papgooiers) on an 86 ![]()

Would love to, but it's not going to work out this time.
We aren't going anywhere near Durban, and I've already pushed Lindy's bubble by slipping in some track time.

Give that man a Bell's - on second thoughts make it a bloody good single malt instead. Is there anything you haven't managed to do with your 86, Fish?

The lowest point in Gauteng is probably still higher than any place in Scotland - mind you if you managed to get your 86 to the top of Ben Nevis it's not just a Bell's you deserve but the whole distillery! |
