Anyways cruisn home from work and of course when I am trying to relax with the cruise control set a flippin deer bolts across the road and nails me in the driver side fender and rolls down the side of the car. $6800 worth of damage later and my car looks mediocre.. The body shop did a terrible job color matching the side of the car to the bumper.. I had barely had the car 2 months and then it had it sit at the crappy autobody shop for over a month.. Needless to say I was pretty depressed about the fr-s by the end of it. The only upside was that I got to drive my miata for a month straight and it reminded me how much fun that car is.

Here is a pic right afterwards

Ouch that is a sad one, fender replacement and Pop up some dent cost 7k?

Here's mine after 2 only 2 months ownership with 8k of damage from a deer. Also had to deal with body shop issues. Stuff happens. I would call your insurance and see what they say about another claim. I don't think you will get dropped though, rates may just go up due to so many claims in a short period.

love dealing with insurance. Normally have always had the same shop do my cars and they ask for oem parts while instaling some of that good aftermarket parts. Once in my Z I fucked my suspension up and got KW coils for like 300 bucks extra. SO I guess yall just need to hustle better haha

I heard it goes up tremendously, but the shop say insurance won't raise since being vandalized is not my fault.

By the way, that is some massive deer, you must have killed it

From what I've read, comprehensive claims usually won't (in many cases can't) raise your rates, but sometimes having a certain number of claims during a certain time period will regardless of their type. This of course varies depends on so many factors like laws, and the particular insurance company.

It was a big deer. It hit so hard that the left front fender was also bent.

The problem is not your car, it is the communist state you live in. The solution to your problem is to move to a more civil part of the world.

And now it's mid January, can I claim for another comprehensive claim? Will I get dropped by my insurance next year? I have AAA
It depends. Prior to the expiring term, have you had many claims? But it depends on the payouts of those claims. Comprehensive claims USUALLY don't count against you, even if there are multiple ones, just as long as there aren't a string of significant losses. When I was on the sales side of insurance, I'd see people who had a ton of comprehensive claims without it affecting their eligibility.

Owning a FRS/BRZ in California, particularly San Francisco is a curse and a blessing. 95% of it is cursed due to the idiot lawmakers and corruption going rampant in the government. One of the head of the bicycle coalition organization in san francisco also works for the SF MTA. Thus you see "super random" and "lack of common sense" bicycle lanes all over San Francisco.

the 5% blessing are the great roads outside of the city to make you forget about the banana republic everything has become.

since deers appear to be so dangerous, Why not get a deer whistle?

http://deerwhistle.com/

It does not say thats it guaranteed to help, only that it 'may prevent deer collisions'

lol on the upside when you going fast enough it may sound like your cah is turbo bruh!

I know some of my colleagues that travel alot into the karoo and other mining areas have them on there bakkies ( south african for pick up) and it helps alot with buck collisions, At night it seems they are attracted to the vehicles lights and run straight into the car

As average it's about 7k per claim but I only had one comprehensive and one collision, I need to make another one soon. Insurance is paid from 7/21/14 to 7/21/15, the whole year is set. I heard that the law states comprehensive claim can't raise price on insurance Cuz it's not your fault but... They can drop you.

Not to mention all the one way and busses only lane that everyone goes on randomly. Drivers ignoring the road signs makes driving the city even more f'd up

It is kind of hard to tell in the picture but the fender is mashed which bent the hood and the deer rolled up the A pillar caving in the windshield (and the A pillar). Also it wrecked the door (which had to be replaced) and put two huge dents in the rocker panel and then to finish it all off it left a nice leg imprint in my quarter panel.. They had to paint almost the whole front and side of the car. The only upside was I got them to make the front bumper perfect for only $100. It had two bolt holes from the license plate and the underside was torn up from curbs from the first owner so they repanted it for basically nothing. Although it already has a big rock chip in it again.. I just cant win with new cars..

Deer whistles are proven to be ineffective..

http://www.thevog.net/threads/deer-w...fred-rau.3439/

" ...expert opinions that a Deer’s hearing range is “basically the same as a human being.” In a nutshell, it was found conclusively that common Whitetail Deer hear sounds from 500 to 12,000 Hertz, and, at elevated volumes, sometimes as high as 16,000 Hertz, but never beyond that. Since the absolute top end of a Deer’s hearing range is the same as the advertised absolute low end of the frequencies generated by a Save-A-Life Deer Whistle, the chances of a Deer actually hearing and reacting to one of these devices is virtually non-existent."
