Ha no not at all. I am saying at minimum, the friction provided by the brake pad should be able to overcome the friction provided by the tire.

So you guys have actually experienced brake fade, in a CS twin, with stock pads, at an autocross? I'd like to see the course where this happened... I'm still on the OE pads, and I like 'em for AX + DD.

Ain't happening here. The FT86 Speedfactory guys are always screeching without enough heat for whatever pads they're using at autox events. My tires are too hot way before brakes.

Edit: And I was on race tires last summer.

The only time I may have gotten close to that hot was during our enduro last season.

In CSR, yes. Local main venue is a go kart track. Getting around there quickly makes the brake action look very much like the bed-in procedure. 50-55ish to 15mph 6-8 times in under a minute, depending on configuration. And you grab third just before the finish. It is only just starting to fade when I brake for shut down though.

So your CS car does 50 to 15 to 50 in less than 10 seconds while turning and slaloming?

Can I see a video, I bet it is amazing.

So I was a couple minutes too late registering for the Prosolo bundle this morning and had to select spring nationals in Lincoln as my 3rd event instead of the 2nd Wilmington Pro as I preferred. Does anyone have an open seat for a codrive in Lincoln? Would like to run the Tour as well as the Pro.

Some background - ~5 years autox experience, trophied at NJ tour in an HS Mini and Wilmington tour in my BRZ last year. Let me know if you or anyone you know has an open CS seat (doesn't have to be a twin). Thanks...

Take away all the slaloming, and most things resembling a transition element and more or less, yeah. I said it was like the brake bed-in procedure. Stomp on gas, then stomp on brakes. Repeatedly.

I forgot how boring the videos are from this place.

The Mav region BMW club sets up a crazy fast autocross at Mineral Wells. I hit the top of 3rd gear in my 11 WRX I. 2 spots on the course.

So that was 2xof the same bit of track? Looks really fun. Too bad the surface isn't better but d still have a good time at an old kart track. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a video from our local go kart track, complete with out-of-sync and poorly calibrated telemetry. First 3/4 lap is untimed.

I haven't experienced brake fade at an autocross, but I have noticed that stock pads require a LOT of pressure to stop at the end of a run and even then they don't engage ABS.
