I've been running Project Mu Club B-Force up front and been happy with them for both autox and on the street.

OeM seems to work well enough that I can't see an upgrade as necessary.

I tend to agree, but also on the fence

on R1Rs, my oem pads produce a max of -0.7 g's while braking.. I'm sure that could be improved.

then again I never stab my brakes, so who knows??

Changing pads can give you different initial bite and modulation ability when braking. It's all down to the users' preference.

Plus in really hot climates, many runs can fade them.

You should be able to hit over 1g braking on top tier street tires. My torque app isn't the best way of measuring, but it pegged me at 1.1 and that sounds about right.

I use Hawk HP+ but most people won't like this pad - extremely high initial bite. Either it will force you to redefine what smooth means on a brake pedal, or you will force the pads through the garage wall. If you want a dual purpose autocross/track pad, look elsewhere; it couldn't cut the cheese for me on track, except for short sessions.

Ive driven a fully prepped STX car on HP+, it was miserable. Even after 4 events I still could not modulate the brakes. It was an on/off switch. To each their own of course.

More power to you if they work well for you but this car is too light to get enough heat for these pads and they will be really hard to modulate too. The AX6, two steps down, was too much for a 2600-2700lb car.

The nice part is it's tough for people to beat me in my own car

Shoot me a message on what you want and maybe we can work something out? I've been testing various parts and have a decent amount of my used stuff in stock.

Pads don't increase or decrease G's achieved under max braking. Tires and technique do that.

Brakes either engage ABS/lock up or they don't and need to be fixed. Any car from the factory should be able to engage ABS/lock up if functioning correctly.

Are you saying with sticky tires and factory pads you can't engage ABS?

That sure seems like an issue which needs to be addressed. I am curious to see if my factory pads end up performing similarly once I'm on stickier tires.
