I have a set of these lying around...
![]() They will chew through snow, ice, asphalt, concrete and of course; wheel arches. But they will get you moving. I'd rather call a tow truck than put these (or chains) on my precious, though. |

Haven't felt the need to add anything. A good set of snow tires will fix the issue of slip-slidin' around. Plus, when it gets a bit slippy out, it's even more fun to go for a drive!

And if you get stranded you can use them to trap some rabbits to eat!

I am choosing to go without adding any weight.
I have new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's and found them to be fairly capable in 4" of snow today. I am with HunterGreene: much more than that and I'll just stay home. |

Caspeed made me sad!
Lake-Effect Snow Resumes as the Deep Freeze Expands January 6, 2015; 2:52 PM ET The lake-effect snow machine will get cranking once again tonight through Wednesday night across Ontario as more cold air pours in from the far north. Initially, the snow bands will set up more west-southwest to east-northeast tonight before turning more northwest to southeast during Wednesday behind the arctic cold front. The strongest lake-effect band will likely set up northwest to southeast off Lake Huron Wednesday and very close or right into the London, Ontario, area. Under this band, the visibility will drop to near zero in snow and blowing snow with snowfall rates of 5-10 (2 to 4 inches) cm per hour possible.

Well we do have a cold front coming in tomorrow so tomorrow night we'll have a low of 54F but the we go back up to 70F for Thursday. It does break my heart seeing pics of you guys putting the cars away for the winter. Then again I don't get to tear ass around in the snow driving a WRX STI or a snow machine ....so it does even out a little bit. Last edited by Caspeed; 01-06-2015 at 08:18 PM. |

After the weather forecasts I've seen, us Fla. boys & gals might want to lay low for a while. It's brutal up there right now. No need to gloat we're just gonna piss them off.

Hey....that was compassion on my part...as I said and your picture shows "It's brutal up there now" I have never had to shovel snow to get into my car ..But I know that's no fun. A little snow is one thing, but conditions like some of you are in now is no laughing matter. It can be and often is lethal to some.

Was joking with the "jerk" thing in reference to your comment "we'll just piss them off" And to those doubters, the FRS will drive through the snow just fine with the proper tires! I must of nicely cruised past half a dozen AWD/Pickups that were either stuck or in the ditch. Mind you it is a weird feeling when you scrape bottom on some snow that a couple of 100 cars already passed over and realize you are the lowest guy on the road at that point!
