I'll say the Sony simply because it's the biggest one and once you're at that price range. The difference is a couple hundred so go big or go home! They all seem to be around the same specs too. Anything past that the human eye can barely tell the difference.

What's upsetting to me is that the refresh rate is horrible on led televisions. In my opinion if you watch a lot of sports or play video games get a plasma.

Go with the Sony. Samsung and LG are garbage.

If you can wait another year, OELD TVs should be much cheaper and are way better then LCDs. I currently have a 7 year old 42inch XVT Vizio model and I am waiting for OELD's to come down in price.

After owning several models of each manufacturer the only ones I would go with are Sony, Sharp, and Toshiba.

I like my 55" LG a lot, but it's the non-smart version. My parents bought the same TV after I got mine but it looks like a model refresh or something because it's different, and I think it sucks compared to mine so I'd say don't get the LG. Of those I would go with the Sony because they've always made a good tv, plus it's bigger.

I've seen so much color bleed on both Samsung and LG. Samsung is obviously a nice picture, I just haven't had the best of luck with them. LG quality is all over the place...just not worth putting a fair chunk of change down on one. Toshiba flies under the radar but they make GREAT tv's. Sony is consistently well Sony. Sharp have always been good. I'm running a 60' Sharp right now as our main set and it's been flawless.

OP, of those TVs the Sony is actually a pretty good one. The W630B is pretty good value considering its size, model age and its picture is pretty good. My dad is considering one of these.

Nobody now, the final ones are Samsungs which I'm sure are almost cleared by boxing day. LG slowed down on plasmas around the fall of last year. Panasonic, arguably the last best maker of plasma TVs was gone 2 years ago. |

alright. so based on everyone's comments im leaning towards the Sony. also, it's $1200 not $1100 lol. my bad.
I'm gonna be getting the TV tomorrow, so more comments the better! thanks everyone also, can someone explain to me in normal human terms the difference between backlit and direct LED for backlight configuration? Last edited by Atticus808; 01-02-2015 at 11:29 PM. |
