How much power are you trying to make?

Cause Subaru built it. Ticking time bomb.

I have no goal yet but if you have to build an engine, you just as well get a little something more from it.

High boost pulley is probably a better option then. The C30 is good for more power.

There isn't, that I know of but theoretically one could be made.

Mike how are you finding the C30 JR package for trackwork?
or more specifically what power figures are you guys pushing and what supporting mods/consumables were ultimately required? For, lets say a full season of track work
**any major/minor issues? etc (the more info the better! )

I would have sent you a message but thought others might be interested.

much appreciated

We ran the CARB setup for about 8 months (~30-35 events), before we decided to start chasing more power, with headers, overpipe, front pipe, and a tune. We've been playing with various iterations of that setup, and will be playing with E85 soon.

We've set a hard limitation of power at restricting ourselves (for the time being) to torque levels that don't require an aftermarket clutch. The clutch is intentionally specced to be the first line of defense against failures from having too much torque (and we've seen cars with too much torque breaking stuff at the track).

Sort of...

http://www.instagram.com/counterspacegarage
http://www.facebook.com/counterspacegarage
http://counterspacegarage.com/blog/

The testing is done so rapid fire that I don't think anyone has time to really post updates/writeups on everything.... although we should.

This was last weekend. Yeah, pitted with 3 458 Challenges, and a friend of mine coaching them.

Mike, which header do you think would compliment the JRSC the best, Tomei equal or unequal length?

I am thinking the unequal may add a little more low end?

Does your fall sale on Tomei end tomorrow?

Thanks!

SC, full exhaust, and E85 will definitely push you over the torque threshold for the stock clutch, even faster if it's tracked.

The general consensus is that EL gives more power at the top end, while UEL gives more at the low end. For a street car I'd personally choose UEL but it's your call.

That is what I was thinking, thanks for the input!

How much louder would an uncatted UEL header add on an otherwise stock exhaust ?

In regards to headers this is true on NA cars especially but on forced induction vehicles it is a different story. With FI cars I would suggest EL only, as there is almost no point in trying to obtain more torque since the FI systems (especially supercharged systems) is taking care of that for you.

Now in respect to FlexFuel/E85, you will be able to run E85 on stock injectors on the base Jackson Racing Pulley with a stock clutch. Though everything is at the limit, clutch, injectors, etc.... Once you install headers, exhaust, smaller pulley, you will more than likely need to upgrade everything.

Cheers,
William Knose
