Trading my good old faithfull vibe gt 03 (matrix xrs). Wondering if the motor will be about the same feel. Since the gt redline at 8100rpm and come alive around 4500.. Hoping for a bit more since the frs will be lighter and if not mistaken there is no vvt-i like in the frs/brz so probably more lineare power.

Come end of may.... Come

Goodbye 370z,

We had a lot of fun together. You were one of my favorites I have ever driven. Ill never forget hitting 130 on a surface street racing a Lancer. Oh and that time we embarassed a 640 BMW. I remember the look on the guys face like WTFOMGBBQSAUCE.

Alas our time has come to an end. After 3 years I have grown tired, and I have to say goodbye.

370z for an FR-S.

Oh gawd, my brother just bought one of these. How many miles on yours and what's been going wrong?

Don't know if it counts as trade in, but I switched directions and sold my 99 Camry, 93 MR2, 08 Tundra, and car trailer and will end up with just an FR-S.

I am used to Miatas and an RX-8, and yes the GC is much bigger and slower responding than those. It can be tuned up (stiffer suspension, ecu re-flashed, & other mods) to get to a respectable level but then I'm modding a new car, which I don't feel like doing anymore.

Worst thing about the Genesis is the drive-by-wire system which delays everything you do, and the stability control that is over-intrusive.

As a GT or cruiser, it is a beautiful car, rides well and decent on fuel.
But it's no FR-S....

I have 142,000 miles on mine.

I have replaced/fixed countless items, it an awesome, awesome car but the maintenance/upkeep is absolutely insane.

Watch out for:

Front Control arm/bushing/balljoint failure
Blower motor fan controller
power steering high pressure lines
belt tensioners/pullys/waterpump
valve cover gasket
tail light wiring melts/shorts out and causes the headlights to flicker (really.)

The biggest thing to look out for is the cooling system, just go ahead and replace the following every 60K miles:
All coolant hoses
Coolant expansion tank (im on my 4th)
thermostat/coolant temp sensors

Honestly I have learned that if you can afford a used BMW, you can afford a new BMW. Make sure not to ever neglect the factory maintenance schedule or you will be in for a world of pain.

My last car was a Chevy Prizm (toyota corolla) and I bought it with 100K, sold it with 300K and honestly never replaced a goddamn thing except for brakes, tires, clutch, and fluid changes. I am so excited to get another Japanese car.
