This is why I love running E85. It's getting even cheaper now too.

Sorry for the delay. I installed the updated billet bypass valve. The spring is about the same as the plastic one and because of that, there's virtually no change. However, I think it is a little louder than the plastic because of the metal construction. This is not what I was hoping for obviously

I know the bypass is supposed to protect the TB when it's closed but during partial throttle I wish it was open a little longer. It would be nice if it closed at -10 boost (vacuum) instead of 0-3 boost. This would still protect the TB when off throttle but provide the boost under partial throttle. Is that bad for the engine?

It's function is not to protect the throttle body.

I replaced the plastic Bosch bypass valve with the newer billet aluminum bypass valve recently. Seems to me they function about the same, but they do sound different... not necessarily louder, but different. The Bosch unit sounds like a faint "psssssh" like a traditional BPV when shifting at and around 5k RPM (louder when shifting higher). The billet unit sounds what can best be described as an alien baby crying. Not sure if I like the sound better (my initial reaction is no). Anybody else on the billet BPV can confirm that yours sounds like that?

i hated the way the bpv on my kit sounded, within the first week i rotated it,

only issue was the hoses cut for the intended direction arent optimal lengths with it flipped, so occasionally i'd have to push in and retighten, because i was lazy and didnt buy new hose.

Paid $2.27 for premium today at Chevron! Keep on going lower gas prices. Loving this oil surplus, lol.

Makes me wonder how much E85 is at HEB...

Has anyone tracked the C30 kit with E85 on a stock motor back to back? (I don't mean 2 a year, I mean heavily tracked 7+)
Details surrounding power figures, supporting mods would be much appreciated

and

Is tracking with a C38 kit (E85 +stock motor) even possible? or is that just too much strain on the entire car?

Cheers

It's definitely more stress on the stock transmission and clutch. Those are the two areas I would look at first if you plan on running e85 all the time. It's a huge jump on this kit from 93 to e85, but it puts you still in a range where it's not too bad. I would still take caution because tracking puts way more stress than daily driving with 320 whp.

I'm going to complete the kit with a carbon drive shaft, clutch and flywheel.
And I want to be on E85 so I can run a (very) conservative 300hp for track work.

My main concerns with this kit are for the engine and transmission under stress back to back year round.

Obviously, if getting this setup to run back to back is too expensive then FI may not be a viable option for me.

So are you saying you're going to track this car every day?

No... but it'll see at least 7.

We don't have any 300hp 86/BRZ regulars for me to keep tabs on down in Australia. Most have seen 2 tops.

Waiting on my skunk2 radiator, super blue, mishimoto thermostat, and update tune from Moto Mike. It seems like I'm running out of fuel after 5k. Like clockwork she's going into the 12's at 5k with more E85.

Hoping the radiator, thermostat, and added capacity can keep my oil temps down with the forester oil cooler.
