Yeah, hoping for something a bit closer (it's a bit short of an hour drive in reasonable traffic) - I know about TF already. They also tend to get a little heavily scheduled by all accounts. I could not stop over for a quick alignment adjustment, for example. I might have them do initial install work if I don't do that myself, though.

Touge Factory is Midwest 1 stop shop for all FRS/BRZ. They got guys driving down from Milwaukee daily just to hangout. If these guys can make the over 1 and half hour drive each time, I'm sure you can deal with 45mins to 1 hour drive there. Take a day off if you ever need to schedule a major install or alignment. That's what I do. I live in the heart of the city and I work out in Bolingbrook, no where near TF but I'll make the hike if I need shit done.

Hah. Day off. I could probably take a "work from TF day" though...

I didn't mention this so of course no fault but my own but m also looking for a place I can send my wife with confidence. She's got 135k on her Prius and it's picking up some gremlins that need sorting. Can always head back up to the 'burbs for that too...

Thanks for the replies.

Lol, I'm at my parents place in Texas for winter break and I saw gas for $1.56.

Not sure if I really want to come back to Illinois...

Just ran up to Grafton WI and back home today. Was fine both ways, even in the crap this morning. Only real sliding was me pushing to get a better sense of how these tires feel when they let go in bad conditions. Pirelli SottoZero Serie 3. I drove a RWD S10 for years in college though... Snow tires make sooooo much difference.

I walk/train to work though, work in the loop and live north side of the city.

Absolutely. With a set of blizzak tires, it's honestly really good in the snow. I went last winter on the stock tires (the a/s bridgestones, not the primacy mind you), and it was not AS painful as I thought it'd be, but it was bad taking off from a stop in anything over a 1/2" of snow.

Blizzak? 2" of snow and the t/c doesn't even blink most of the time. Nor does the ABS if driven in a sane manner.
